Lower Face Lift

ORIGINAL POST

So this is really happening!

WORTH IT$10,700
I have been on RealSelf for a few months now researching the possibility of getting a lower face/neck lift. I have been told most of my life that I look young for my age but lately all I can see is my droopy neck and I think it is aging me. I am 53 yes old but I still feel 38 on the inside! I am active and love travel, dance, golf and having fun with my hubby and two daughters (in their 20’s). I just want to match my outside with my inside! Along with reading hundreds of articles and reviews online, I interviewed with five Drs in my area and I am excited that I picked Dr Menachof. His credentials, experience, demeanor, results, and staff (...and I have a couple of clients who are very happy patients) were all part of why I chose him. I just dropped off my down payment and I am officially in the books for April 25, 2018! It’s still a little way off but I am excited to ‘journal’ my experience as I go through it and just wanted to start my story with a couple of ‘before’ shots. I will update again when I go to my pre-op appt in March:)

You got this!!! I, too, noticed after menopause how quickly my skin sagged. I had my lower face and neck lift done 6 months ago and I must tell you I have never been happier!! You're going to love the results I'm certain of this. I went to dr. Dahan but as long as you did your research, I'm sure you're in good hands.

I'm excited and happy for you! You sound like a wonderful person and you deserve this! Please keep us updated! I have been looking into lower facelift, or SOMETHING, and I'm having a difficult time because I am new to all of this and a bit overwhelmed. Also, the funds aren't there yet. I can only describe what I feel as it's like my face "dropped," ( not drooped, I really mean dropped,) and I despise it. I first noticed it while going through pictures and I remember being frozen for a moment, just STARING at myself in the picture. It was really awful!
Anyway, please do keep us updated. I am extremely happy for you!
(P.S U apologize this comment being so lengthy, however I just joined RealSelf and this is the very first comment I have ever posted!)

Sag from menopause :(

kimund

Just a note about how crazy fast your face can age when you hit menopause. The picture on the left is Augusr 2016. The one on the right is this last September (2017). Just 13 months apart (granted the glasses aren’t screaming ‘young lady’ lol) but I’m looking at my neck and chin/jowls (notice I am smiling more and jutting my chin in the second picture cuz I feel like it tightens up the sag a bit)
AND imo it’s even worse now. I sure hope this procedure turns back the clock like all the reviewers say it does. I started menopause last year (no picnic but that’s a whole other story) and the elasticity in my face went kaput.
Something about finalizing my surgery date got me looking back through my pictures and I feel like I was holding it together pretty good until this last year.
I keep wavering between ‘I’m ashamed of my vanity’ (and my hubby says ‘you know what we could do with that $?!) and then ‘I wanna look how I feel and I work hard and deserve this’ etc...the struggle is real.

Felt exactly the same , also what if it went wrong and I had been so selfish to do it .. but was 100% worth it . You only live once it's your face go for it you will feel amazing xx

I so agree with you that things can change in a very short time. I'm 57 and just a year ago, NO ONE could believe my age and I was even carded at times.
I have been getting botox in the 11's since I was 43, and last October I went to a new doctor (groupon:) . He was genuinely surprised and told me I looked his age, 43. Not bragging, but this was not unusual at all. Anyway, I then lost 18 lbs in the fall of 2017 and and that changed everything. Sagging jawline. Just like my dad, with a small little chin.
So, I'm signed up for a Quick Lift with a small chin implant for March 28. The implant, which my PS showed me is not for any outward projection of my chin but for filling side to side indentations adjacent to my chin. Frankly, these have always bothered me but when you are young, it doesn't really matter. It does now. I may be brave and post pictures like this young lady because the PICTURES and narratives helped me make this decision. So thank you ladies for posting the good, bad, great and ugly. It really does help!!

Oh my gosh you sound like me! I am 54. I went through menapause last year and my face and neck fell down. People always thought me and my daughter were sisters. When I had my granddaughter with me and she called me nana strangers would say,”what did she just call you? I thought you were her mother!”. With menapause that all stopped. I look at pictures a year apart and I am horrified. I finally pulled the trigger and I am booked with Dr David Harley for July. My husband is also having a fit about the money. I struggle with “I’m being vain and what if something goes wrong” and I can’t stand the way I look. I can’t wait to see your results! I just keep telling myself,”I have taken care of kids, my husband, my parents, grandchildren and now it’s time to take care of me!”.

I went through the same thing with looking young for my age and then going through menopause I really aged in 2 years. I'm 54 and thought why wait...so I had my smas facelift (lower) with fat grafting and eye lift on Jan 4th and it's just about 6 weeks and wow what a difference! I don't have any more wrinkles on my neck (which really bugged me and was noticeable) and my creepy skin near my mouth and cheeks are now filled out, very supple and my skin looks amazing!! Grant it I am still swollen but it's healing very well. After surgery around the 3 day I started walking in my back yard every day to get circulation and help with the healing but rested a lot for the first 2 weeks.. I felt comfortable going out in public around the 3rd week, even though my neck was stiff/ noticeable.. . A few people have commented on how great my skin looks, since this has been a secret not very people know what I have done. Everyday gets better and better. I still have some tightening around my neck which will be part of me but it's very worth it! I'm still trying to sleep on my side a little but ears are still tender and numb. Even though it was pricey I was determined to look better and I have no regrets! Best Wishes! :)

We are entitled to look good. Anyone who truly loves us will support that decision. Many people (men and women) leave their partners for someone younger. You are wise to maintain your appearance. Keep us posted. :))

Pre-Surgery Chin Scar

kimund

Because so many people rely on before/after photos on this site, I just wanted to point out that I have a pretty substantial scar on my chin that has been there since I was 6 or 7 yrs old. (Fell on the playground... knocked out both front teeth!)
I don’t know how it will or won’t be affected by my neck lift but since I have always had it I really don’t notice it anymore and most people think it is a cleft (albeit a lopsided one)
I’m hoping that since I have to be cut under my chin, my PS can just meld old and new scar together to make one. Or possibly it will get pulled back? I think I will ask my Dr about this:)

A friend of mine is on here she started with her upper eyelids, I am using her doctor...its addicting. True but we all want to feel and look attractive(youthful), this great inspiration. My upper eyelids lids 10-post, my stitches come out Monday, back to the Gym, dance and roller blading.
