Other Physicians Operating on You Along with Dr. Cardenas

I would not recommend doing a cheek lift. The procedure sounds good in theory, in real life it will be one of the worse choices you make. The skin under your eye is extremely delicate how much would the skin go up. At first I didn't know that the incision was under the eye, I though it was lateral. I had surgery in Aug 202, the day of surgery during my consultation with Dr. Cardenas , he tells me the scar is under the eye, and it made sense cheeks go up no lateral. I regret falling for a theory. I was hesitant to post a review, but my conscious doesn't leave me alone if I don't warn other women. I remember when he told me, I asked him to show me the results, and he showed me some pictures in the office. The truth is that since your having surgery right after your consultation your mind is already going everyone.

If you notice the incisions, those left eye incision from 2020, that is a novice beginner. Dr Cardenas has over 20+ years as a plastic surgeon, he wouldn't be leaving zigzag scars. He does not have Parkinson to my knowledge. It is standard to have other physicians assist, but not make incisions. They usually assist with pulling your fascia, muscle, etc.

As far as a facelift, the scar is disgusting. I will give more update and get into more details in the days coming.

Ghost Surgery

mayiitaslays
I am starting to believe that what Dr Cardenas is doing is what is called "Ghost Surgery" where inexperience residents operate on you without your consent or knowledge. This is become a black hole as I am researching more and connecting the dots. The incisions are not the same, the technique, direction, everything is different, the cutting. I am even wondering does Dr. Cardenas start the procedure and then leaves the operating room and leaves you at the hands of inexperience residents.

I decided to do my facelift with Dr. Cardenas because of a review from a nurse. I am also a nurse. And I have seen many instances were doctor cut corners and are running two operating rooms at the same time. I never though it would happen to me.

I read your post about the trend of doctors doing Ghost Plastic Surgery. It makes me sick
to think this is happening .It is very helpful that you have called out this concern. I think all
patients need to get in writing that the surgeon you have retained is the only one doing
the actual operation. That is why people need to not travel to foreign countries where
they have no recourse whatsoever. It is bad enough when the surgeon you have placed
your trust in and given your money to. Does not live up to your expectations with respect
to your procedure. This is the real world patient/buyer beware. Thank you for coming forward with your account. I hope maybe some laser treatment would maybe help your
situation as well.

Thank you for your input. I also wished more women would be honest about their experience. I learn about Ghost surgery when I research online, it is routinely done in the States, but not so much when it's related to plastic surgery. The first time I had surgery, one scar was like a sew-saw that I wondered but couldn't pin point why. The second time I had surgery I took picture as soon as I got discharged from the hospital and noticed and I started to analyzed, did he forget to fully complete the surgery. Anyways I reached out to the surgeon although they will never admit it. The incisions are a dead give away. I just had surgery again two weeks ago. Dr Cardenas fix all the scarring. He did the procedure again and went above and beyond, one scar in the left eye I may need to fix it but it's much better than how it was. I do not want to scare patient that it only happens out of the States because if we really want to analyzed in the States physicians are more worried about litigations that they are not as aggressive as they should be. I didn't do laser treatment because I felt that would be a band-aid approach that is why I did the procedure again with the same Dr. I know some patients would jump to another physician but in my humble opinion jumping to another physicians may be more of a risk because he is working on what someone else did. I am glad Dr Cardenas agree to redo the procedure. I hope moving forward he starts and completes the procedures himself. Dr. Cardenas even took pictures during procedure I will be posting them.

Thank you so much for your kind words and support. Another reason why I choose Guadalajara and Dr Cardenas is because the hospital has four Hyperbaric Oxygen Chambers and the evidence supports faster recovery and wound healing when Hyperbaric Oxygen Chambers are added during recovery stage.

Dr Cardenas went Above and Beyond.

On Aug 22, 2022, I had surgery again with Dr. Cardenas for Facelift and Eyelid Scar Revision.
Dr Cardenas explain to me that scarring is different for everyone. The scar is so much better, great improvement. I will be uploading pictures as I go thru my recovery and healing process. Dr. Cardenas also showed me some pictures of the scarring tissue that he removed from my Eyelid.
I still recommend Dr. Cardenas. He is an excellent doctor. I will still hold my position due to my experience, my opinion is that Cheek Lift is not beneficial due to scarring under the eye, and the amount of skin lifted.
Dr Cardenas listened to my concerns and he did everything to make it right. This is the reason why I will be sticking with Dr. Cardenas because of the communication and working towards building more trust.

Hi you look great. I noticed that you had a revision. Where did you go the first time? Also, would you recommend him?
September 11, 2022
All my surgeries have been with Dr. Cardenas. My first surgery was in 2020, then in 2021, and this is my third surgery with Dr Cardenas in Aug 22, 2022. In 2020 I did a cheek lift, and lip reduction. In 2021 I redid the cheek lift because one eye, the Left eye scar was zigzag it was awful but the Right eye was perfect. My thinking was let me do it again and both eye will be beautiful the scar and it will lift my cheeks more. After surgery I took pictures and noticed the skin under the R. eye as folded but not the left eye (Pic on original post). I even though he didn't complete the procedure but why wouldn't Dr. Cardenas do that. I then started researching and it all felt in place. It was a ghost surgery, because incisions were different an experience surgeon with 20+ years wouldn't be making those mistakes. Then I wanted to be honest and let other aware. It also bothered me that no one ever said anything. I am sure that I was not the only one that had this experience.

I do recommend Dr Cardenas because he fixed the scarring. I did the procedures again. Ghost surgery doesn't just happen outside the States. Kanye West' mother passed away after having liposuction (a simple procedure) in L.A. I am sure they paid a lot of money, after all she was the mother of a celebrity.

I am going back to Dr. Cardenas next year for breast reduction. Don't throw away the baby with the bathwater.

Ok. Thanks for the reply. So how would you know if dr. Cardenas is the one operating you and not some other doctor in the future? I'm interested on having a lower facelift and an otoplasty but don't feel that I can trust him.
September 13, 2022
Your welcome. Trust your gut feelings. If you don't feel like you can trust him find another doctor. This time around I feel more confident because of the incisions, most often than not experience correlates with exceptional results. However, we never take into account that surgeons can be under stress, including anxiety, or have medical diagnosis that may hinder results.

In reality surgeons having assistance is pretty much standard even in the States especially in teaching hospitals, but not so much when they have their own free standing ambulatory surgical center. For instance when two medications work together in a synergistic effect "interaction of two or more drugs when their combined effect is greater than the sum of the effects seen when each drug is given alone." It's ideal for surgeons to have assistance because it helps with pulling muscle, fascia, in order to give excellent results not to make it worse. Don't fall for the trap that in the states doctor's do not do ghost surgery. Another important reason why I am trusting Dr. Cardenas is because last year when the frontal incision on my left ear dehiscence (opened up), Dr Cardenas stitched it the next day. One would think all surgeons would do that, but not they do not. In the recovery house I was in there was a women from Chicago, she had surgery a year prior in Miami, she did a mommy make over, her scars from the tummy tuck uneven and even higher than the belly button, her bbl was didn't show any improvement. She went to another Dr. in Guadalajara, she did a breast reduction, lift and bbl. The scar in her R. breast opened up, her doctor refused to stitched her up, he didn't even prescribed more antibiotics to cover her when she returns to the States. Unfortunately she hasn't posted a review about her experience. I am in contact with her and I am advising her to post because that can prevent another women from having a botched surgery. I did Otoplasty if you noticed my ears they have scars in the back. I had a friend in Puerto Rico did Otoplasty but his plastic surgeon reduced from the concheal bowl versus the back of the ear. My surgeon for my Otoplasty was in Miami over 10 years ago. When you speak to the surgeon asked him how is he going to do it. I think most of us get caught up on post surgical results that we unconsciously don't get into more details of surgical approach. Wish you the best sweetie.

Thank you

Is it wrong to ask Dr. Cardenas if he'll be the one operating on me?
September 22, 2022
Is fine to ask, you want to be reassured. I believe he starts the procedure or does one part then allows the other surgeons to complete it this is why is called ghost surgery. My last surgery with him, I believe he did it all start to finish, and if he had assistance that is fine bec the results were outstanding The issue in my opinion is whether the extra hands are going to make it better or worse.
September 22, 2022
Ok. Is there another plastuc surgeon in mexico that you would recommend? Or heard that were good surgeons?
September 23, 2022
I do not know any other plastic surgeon.
September 23, 2022
Ok thanks
