After much deliberation, I decided to go for it!. I am 48 , approx. 9 and a half stone and 5"4" My children are 20 and 22 , I eat a healthy diet and walk a lot .. My belly looked flabby and I was very conscious of its appearance. I rung BMI and they suggested a few surgeons who could help me. I looked on their profiles and made an appointment with Matt. Initially I thought I would need liposuction however Matt said this would not work and that I would need a tummy tuck (abdomiinoplasty) with some liposuction around the hips. He was very honest in his approach and asked me to have a good think about it. I did not feel pressurised at all in making any decision. I decided to go ahead with the surgery. I was treated at Blackheath hospital. All the staff are lovely, I cannot praise them enough. I was walking to the toilet on my own the night of the surgery. I don't think I have a high pain threshold, having suffered from sciatica however the next day I was up walking (slowly). and was really surprised how the pain was manageable. After the surgery the area did appear bloated, even though the stomach area was flat. I bought a pair of SPANX pants which held everything in. I would defiantly recommend buying a pair. Its been 6 week since the procedure and I am still a bit bloated however so pleased with the result which has boosted my confidence
