Reviews you can trust, from real people like you.
How it works
  • Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
  • This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
  • Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
  • Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.

If you have questions or believe we should re-evaluate a published review, let us know.

Consultation Only

I had a virtual consultation with Taban for a revision. I was told it would be btw 20-30 min. The scheduler had made a mistake with the dates; they said they had an earlier appt date than my original date so I accepted. When I called a week prior to confirm they had never even switched it. Not a good first impression but not much of an issue. It was requested I send photos of my eyes and sent in with an explanation of what went wrong with my last surgery. I was told he would meet with me. When I logged into the video chat he wasnt even there on camera. He showed up a few minutes later. He was pretty much halfway out of his chair the entire time we met. He proceeded to tell me what he would do and what he would not. I dont even think he looked at my photos. If he did he would have addressed those issues I noted. He had a very poor bedside manner. When a patient tells you they have PTSD from a bad experience with the past surgery, dont ever tell them "Well, that wouldn't have happened if I did the surgery". That's so arrogant. It didn't make me feel very good as Im trying to move on from something that happened in 2017. Toward the end he made it clear he would have to see me in person to determine what to do exactly and that's understandable, and would make room to see me on short notice. I appreciated that at least. But being halfway out of the chair while asking me if I had any questions just made me not want to bring anything else up. If you are a revision specialist, you need to expect that your patients will most likely have emotional trauma. You have to be compassionate. If this was just a primary surgery I honestly wouldn't give it this much thought. I barely got to my concerns at all and as we are ending he was out of his chair before he hung up. The consult was a total of 14 minutes. No one who has a complicated case shld have a 14 minute consult. Obviously, a busy Dr, but I dont recommend him for those who have PTSD from bad surgery. It's hard to trust someone who isn't really listening to what your concerns are. I am still looking for another revision surgeon. If anyone has an y recommendations please DM me!

I don't know who you are but I am sorry for your experience. I take my responsibility with patient care seriously and I have to be real with the patient in regards to their problem and treatment whether or not the patient is happy to hear that. Not every patient is a candidate for surgery. Realistic expectations are critical. You are encouraged to contact me directly for any questions/concerns. doctor@tabanmd.com
