Left burnt & scarred - late 50s, went for upper & lower blepharoplasty

Left Burnt and Scarred
I am in my late 50s and went in for an upper and lower blepharoplasty because I didn't have much of a crease in my upper eyelids and the lids were beginning to weigh on my eyelashes. The lower eyelids weren't bad - no bags - but my left lower eyelid had lost some fat and was looking more hollow than the right eye. I wanted to keep the shape and ethnic look of my upper eyelids but reduce the droopiness, while I requested a fat transfer for the lower eyelids. Dr. Funk said he didn't do fat transfers because he preferred to use fillers. I deferred to his expertise because he said he was an expert and even taught other doctors how to do this procedure. Dr. Funk said, "Don't worry, I'm going to make you look like you had a good night's sleep." Perfect, I thought. The procedure did not go well. I woke up in severe pain, which felt like a burn on my left lower lid all the way down to my mid cheek. Long story short, the doctor had literally BURNED my lower left eyelid to the point it split completely apart in the middle. The scars were squiggly like it was done by an unsteady hand, and the cuts extended all the way to the sides of my eyes. The sutures used were dissolvable, and pulled so tight they left track marks and and indentations where the final knots were tied. During the pre-op visit, Dr. Funk admitted that my eye had been burnt and said he had REMOVED the fat from beneath both eyes instead of adding fillers. I was left with ugly scars, and misshapen eyes due to a lack of patient safety and a lack of skill on the doctor's part. Dr. Funk downplayed the outcome and said the burns and extreme fat loss were from "just a little burn" that would heal in time. It did not heal well. I have since been seen by a leading specialist in oculofacial plastic surgery, and was told that I had worse than subpar plastic surgery done by Dr. Funk. The specialist even recommended that I write this review because they said Dr. Funk should not be doing surgery to the eyes. I've no idea if he is skilled in other plastic surgery areas, he seemed like a very nice man, but Dr. Funk did not take immediate responsibility for the burn and damage to the structures supporting my eyes. I was told by a specialist that I will need surgery because I now look "doe-eyed" because the corners of my eyes were pulled downward. Also, because too much fat was burnt and melted, both eyes now look sunken and hallowed out. I don't look anything like myself now and my eyes are just plain ugly looking. The fat needs to be replaced and a repair to the sagging burnt eyelid, and jagged scars need to be done.
