Upper eyelid blepharoplasty

My upper eyelids have been bugging me since my early 20's. I, not so lovingly inherited droopy eyelids from both of my parents and have contemplated this procedure for almost 10 years after I realized Botox would not help me. I wanted to write this review mainly because I've noticed most people do not experience much bruising from an upper blepharoplasty but I am on the other side of the spectrum unfortunately. The procedure itself was not so bad, I was given a couple Xanax and away we went. I had very little discomfort, just some minor pinching here and there. I was very swollen after so I came home, iced and fell asleep. I'm only 4 days out and will continue to document my progress. I'm taking arnica tablets religiously, icing and keeping my head elevated. I'm crossing my fingers I'll be work ready by Monday!

Informed my surgeon about the bruising, we're going to try IPL when I get my stitches out to hopefully shorten the life of these bruises. Otherwise feeling ok with just some minor achiness and tightness.

Still very bruised as you can see. Today the stitches came out and we did IPL to hopefully reduce the bruising over the weekend. Still continuing with Neosporin on the lids and no makeup for 5 more days. My eyes definitely look more open and I'm excited for this bruising to go away so I can start to see the final results!

I am considering this surgery, and wondered: when you wake up from surgery, are your eyes covered closed with gauze or anything? I am afraid I'm going to wake up and not be able to see and freak out because my eyes are covered. Thanks.
