It's been 2 weeks since my upper eyelid blepharoplasty and my left eye will not close all the way. I am unable to follow up with my doctor as he is in South America. Last week I went to the eye doctor and she told me I have a really dry patch on my cornea since my eyes are not closing all the way. She prescribed me some prescription drops, as well as recommended gel tears, an ointment for night time & wipes. Do you guys think my eye will eventually close all the way or will I need corrective surgery ?

I am not a doctor but from my experience I can say that too much skin was removed. I had something with quite bad blepharo...actually was done by person who most probably never did this before in his life. I was butched. I had similar problem. With time skin relaxed. Lot of massage at the area . Collagen intake, creams and ...time... I still sleep with one eye opened. I can tell you that taping the eyelids before sleep helps a lot. ..but from long time i dont do this anymore. I have damaged lower eyelid too. After a while you can massage it more and more . Hope you will be better

Hello there, hope you recover fully and I as the lady on the second comment says... give it chance to heal :) do you mind me asking you the name of the surgeon that did your procedure?

Don’t worry, the same thing happened to me with my surgery taking place here in the states. My doctor told me it’s not uncommon and to give it some time. Keep eyes hydrated. It takes time for everything to settle down after surgery. If not resolved in another month I would get a consult. Hope this helps.

They will gradually be ok!! I had the same thing happen but I still suffer a bit of dry and wear contacts. You will be fine!! It is scary but give it time to heal!!!
