Upper and lower blepharoplasty and ptosis repair, 43 year old

WORTH IT$4,300
So I´m at day 13 after my upper and lower blepharoplasty and ptosis repair and so far I´m very pleased.

Ptosis runs in my family and (unfortunately) so does eye bags. Both have been bothering me for a couple of years - especially the ptosis (who always got worse when I was tired).

I admit to be vain and since I do get compliments about my figure and overall young look, I could see that soon to be changing due to above problems... I decided it was time to do something, even though friends and family hadn´t even noticed yet (actually, it´s better to do it before it get obvious in my opinion).

I was awake during surgery and I kid you not - VERY unpleasant..! I was wondering what the heck I did there a couple of times, but the surgeon (specialist eye surgeon with 15 years of experience, only doing eyes) was very skilled and had nurses he´d worked with for 10 years. That actually eased my mind, because if the nurses stay that long he´s probably good. :-)

So the surgeon fixed my ptosis and removed skin on the upper eyelids, then repositioned the fat in my lower eyelids (no removing of skin).

All in all, the surgery took less than two hours and I had a slight pain afterwards and was already swelling up. The pain was gone the morning after though, from then on it was only sore.

I had read before that one would get really swollen day three and four, but that wasn´t the case for me - day three I could see less swelling and I didn´t look as freakish. I have to say that I CONSTANTLY chilled the eyes with frozen pea bags the first three days and also slept with my head high, that most likely helped a lot.

Didn´t get that much bruising and since I didn´t have to stress back to work I didn´t care about it, it disappeared more and more each day anyway.

I removed the upper stiches (which were non visible, under the eyelid somehow) on day 11 and today (day 13) I removed a "safety stich" under each eye where the fat was repositioned. The surgeon said he placed the stiches there to be sure the fat would stay in place.

So the "before" pic is pretty obvious I imagine and the "after" pic is from today, day 13. I am VERY happy about this, I´ve gotten my eyes back - how they used to look until just years ago! The surgeon said he´d be very careful not to mess with the almond shape he could see that I had, and for that I´m grateful because I was (and am) very fond of that shape :-)

I do have some wrinkles under the eyes right now that I didn´t have before. I don´t worry about it yet, it´s most likely an effect of the surgery and being so swollen for days. I´ll give the skin time to "get back in shape". It´s not even two weeks since surgery and I already think it looks great, so I´m sure time and healing will make it even better :-)

I´d say, if you´re thinking about this - DO it, but be sure to pick a good surgon. For me personally, it felt good to know that he was doing ONLY eyes - because I was a bit scared that something would go wrong. That would be a disaster since there´s no way to hide it.

I feel 10 years younger, my hubby (who hadn´t even noticed my ptosis) was a bit amazed afterwards as well - he thinks it looks great. The dark circles and bags under my eyes are hardly visible and then I haven´t healed fully yet (always HATED seeing those bags in photos). Happy, happy! :-)

I hope you got some help from this! My doc is in Sweden so that part is most likely not useful for you.

Very encouraging, thanks for sharing. Where did you have this done and who is your doctor?
zzhang; I did it in Sweden since I live here - my guess is that you don´t, so unfortunately that won´t be so helpful.
Hi
What is the name of your surgeon
Thanks
