I am 2 months post-op from a winged upper and lower lid blepharoplasty with fat transposition with Dr. Paul Denton at Refine Cosmetic Surgery in Vancouver, BC, and so happy with the results- it is amazing! If you’ve spent years obsessing over your under-eyes like I have, then read this!
I’ve had a genetic predisposition to hollowing and bags my entire life—it’s been my biggest insecurity since my 20s. I started trying to "fix" it with HA fillers over the last 3 decades. I went through it all: being overfilled, dealing with the Tyndall effect (that blueish tint), and general frustration. Now at 50, the fillers just weren’t cutting it anymore; they looked unnatural and were just masking the problem rather than fixing it. It was exhausting and I wanted a permanent solution.
From the first consultation, he was just exceptional. I finally went to see Dr. Paul Denton at Refine, and from the second I met him, I knew he was the one. He took so much time to explain the "why" behind his plan for me. He didn’t just suggest a procedure; he educated me. Procedure, benefits, risks, potential complications- why fat transposition was the right move to restore my volume naturally instead of just pumping in more filler. He really listened to me, answered every single question, and I never felt rushed. I left feeling like I was finally in the right hands.
The staff at Refine are incredible—especially Angie and Ania (his surgical director). They were warm, professional, and supportive every step of the way, answering my questions with patience and kindness. They feel more like friends- love them!
For the actual procedure, I did oral sedation and I was totally comfortable—just happily unaware the whole time! My only tiny regret is that I didn’t get to watch, because I am so fascinated by the process. When I got home and looked at the incision marks with a 10x zoom mirror, I was blown away. They were literal works of art. So precise and beautifully done.
I’m beyond thrilled with my results. I didn’t want to look like a different person; I just wanted to look refreshed and stop hyper-fixating on my eyes every time I saw a mirror. Even though I still have a few more months of healing to go, it gets better every single day. I actually thought I’d eventually need fat grafting later on, but Dr. Denton worked some magic and my under-eyes look so good now that I don't think I'll ever need it—I’ll just save that for my temples!
I honestly wish I’d done this years ago. Dr. Denton is compassionate, highly skilled, and just a master at making you look like a rested, natural version of yourself. I trust him so much that I’ve already decided he is the only person I will be going to for my future lip lift and facelift. Is it possible to give more than 5 stars??
