13 days post up

Thankfully my entropian resolved. However, there is still asymmetry between my eyes, my right eye is slightly retracted. I hate the asymmetry and how my eye shape has changed. But as of now all I can do is continue to massage it and hope for the best!

Post-op day 3

On my 3rd day of recovery and there is already hollowing on my right eye. It is very evident that there has been an over removal of fat resulting in a sunken in look. During my consult, the physician stated that he takes a conservative approach to fat removal because it is easier to take more out then it is to replace it. He has over 19years experience and I felt confident in his ability to provide a desirable result. Now here I am, day 3 with a horrible result. The emotional distress this has caused is nearly unbearable. The middle portion of my eyelid is collapsed inwards and causing constant discomfort as my eyelashes touch my eye. I’m devastated and petrified the hollowing will get worse as I heal.

Transconjunctival Blepharoplasty

I am 29 years old and am unfortunately predisposed to puffy under eyes. I have been considering this surgery for years and decided to have a lower blepharoplasty performed. As I am young I was a candidate for the inner transconjunctival approach.

The surgery itself and recovery have been completely pain free. However, I am post op day 2 and I am feeling very upset and distressed over the appearance of my right eye. It appears droopy, there is increased sclera show, and my lower eyelid is turned nearly completely inwards which is causing discomfort as my eyelashes are touching my eye. I met with my doctor very briefly the following day and he encouraged me to massage the area. I will be following up with him again in one week.

I understand it is still very early to tell if there is an abnormality but I can’t imagine this will fix itself. I greatly hope that I am wrong. Unfortunately I didn’t ask any questions during my brief follow up. The uncertainty is leading to a lot of stress. I have written out questions to ask my doctor when I speak with him again. In the meantime, I am wondering if anyone else in the community has had this procedure with a similar outcome?
