Revision Upper Blepharoplasty with a Sterling Surgeon
Scrabblemom4June 20, 2019
In 2017 I had upper blepharoplasty with a surgeon in NJ. I was not happy with the results. The left eye looked weird to me. I was told it was due to my right eyebrow being too low. So after botox didn't work, on his recommendation, I tried a right unilateral brow lift. That did not take care of the problem. My niece said I looked "plastic" and something was definitely "off" in pictures. My original surgeon said there was nothing wrong. Eventually I found Dr. Kotlus. He immediately saw what I was talking about. He measured and found the left crease to be at least 2 mm higher then the right and angled upwards. In addition he thought I could benefit from ptosis surgery. (I did not have ptosis before the first surgery). I found Dr. Kotlus to be extremely caring and thorough. I never felt rushed. He truly wanted me to be happy. I had the surgery it was a piece of cake. I had nitrous oxide which I barely used. Four days later I went out to eat even with the stitches. It did not look bad. The recovery was very, very easy. I am extremely satisfied with the results. I would recommend Dr. Kotlus whole heartedly and without reservation. He has a great aesthetic eye. An unexpected benefit from the surgery was that I was experiencing discomfort where the initial browpexy stitch was placed. Dr. Kotlus released that region, stitch/scar, and the discomfort immediately went away. I am a physician myself and I can appreciate a good doctor when I see one. Unfortunately the original surgeon and his practice refused to reimburse me for the procedure which was done poorly. I had to pay for a full second procedure and a brow lift which I never needed. And to add insult to injury I had to redo the original surgeon's lower blepharoplasty too. What a waste of money, time and general anesthesia with the first surgeon.
