70, noticeable asymmetry & raised, red & wrinkly scars

Everything That Could Go Wrong Happened

I am a 70 year old that has taken very good care of myself through exercise and eating well, for which I have opted to take care of my skin and finally decided to get a blepharoplasty done.

I selected this doctor because of his years of experience and qualifications in paper, and a few reviews found online.

Precisely because future patients need to get a better picture of what is a bad outcome, it is imperative I narrate my experience for you to consider.

My recommendation, please, do yourself a favor and keep looking for a plastic surgeon that considers aesthetics and has the best techniques for blepharoplasty surgery.

My doctor didn’t waste a second to manipulate me into questioning my own perception of the reality that my eyes are disfigured. He insisted that it was too early in my recovery, and that I’ll look like a movie star, and laughing about it.

I asked him about any treatment or options to manage my raised, red and wrinkly scars, and he made me feel like a freak, saying that no patient of his had to procure laser or any other treatment than massaging the scars with vitamin E or ANY other oil.

He tried to diminish the noticeable asymmetry of my eyes saying that we all have some kind of asymmetry. My before picture shows no asymmetry in my eyes or look, evidently, that was not true in my case.

One eye doesn’t close completely and his suggestion was to use
my finger to push up my lower eyelid.

He tried to mask his callousness as an effort to assure me that everything was ok. Well it wasn’t, and I am still very self conscious and trying to hide my eyes when in public.

What can I do?

After 9 months no improvement at all

It’s been 9 months since my upper and lower blepharoplasty and my scars are as noticeable as at three months. This has been a long struggle trying to disguise them with makeup with no success. I’ll be providing the receipt the money I paid that I would consider fair to be reimbursed.

After 18 months and a CO2 laser treatment

These are pictures of the results of a lower and upper blepharoplasty performed by Dr. Frank Fleming. He never accepted that a CO2 laser or any other cosmetic treatment will help with the appearance of the scars noticeable even after a year of the surgery. Still these results are not up to my standards and expectations.
