Lower blepharoplasty
ORIGINAL POST
Lower blepharoplasty
I'm 44 yrs old and my eye bags bothered me for years. I tried fillers in the past but the results weren't that great. I went for consultation with 4 different plastic surgeons in NYC over the years. I seen so many botched eye surgeries online so I never had the courage to do so until I saw Dr. Brett Kotlus.
I did extensive research for this procedure; I read hundreds of reviews, watched all the YouTube videos as well as listened to podcasts. I finally booked an appointment online in Dec 2020 for Dr. Kotlus. He had a 3 months wait list and I didn't get seen until March 2021. It was totally worth the wait! I love that he doesn't push his patients to do anything that isn't necessary. I asked him if I need to have excess skin removed/fat transfer/laser treatment which he said they're all not necessary. He suggested that I could do fillers for a temporary fix or transconjunctival blepharoplasty. I knew I was in good hands so I made the decision right away.
My surgery was scheduled in May and my total recovery time was a month. I know I'm a bad bruiser because I got black eye just from fillers in the past (not from Dr. Kotlus) I think most people could be back to normal in two weeks time. For me, it took almost a month. I was a little worried at first since I developed chemosis. I texted and send pictures to Dr. Kotlus to get some reassurance. He called me right away and I felt a lot better after hearing from him.
Dr. Brett Kotlus is the best oculoplastic surgeon in NYC and I highly recommend him.

Thank you so much for the information. I am looking for a surgeon for my upper blepheroplasty. Can you share what other surgeons in New York you consulted?
Thanks!
Thanks!
I consulted with Dr. Tae Ho Kim, Dr. Jessie Cheung, Dr. William Lao, Dr. Herman Lam, and Dr. Amiya Prasad. I also read all the reviews from different websites and looked up if there were lawsuits, etc. I think finding a consistent and reliable surgeon is the most crucial part of the selection process. All of these surgeons have good track records but I think Dr. Kotlus is the best given his extensive experience. Good luck!
Thank you:)
How much did you spend if you don't mind me asking?
$7500 including the initial consultation and the follow up visits after the surgery. Also this price includes additional surgery if you have complications which I find very important. It is totally worth the price if you're comparing prices with other surgeons. Dr. Kotlus is a very skilled and experienced surgeon! Highly recommend!
I paid $2000, was the worst thing in my life. looking for a revision. You get what you pay
Oh no! You went to him too? Or was this another doctor. I'm so sorry this happened
Awesome. You look great!!
