So Happy with my Result!!
I have always had very heavy looking upper eyelids, and slightly down-turned eyes. My lashes pointed straight down, over my eyes, instead of out or up. I felt my eyes looked dark and dull. As I got older, my upper eyelid started to crease from excess skin and fat and I always looked tired and old.
My sister and I both went to Dr. Goretti Ho at LEA plastic surgery for consultations on our eyes. Everyone working there was so kind and helpful—and very patient with our questions and schedule. The office itself is also gorgeous.
I asked Dr. Taghva for her recommendation on type of eyelid surgery. She recommended incisional surgery (vs just stitches) for long lasting results. She also astutely pointed out that I had a lot of excess skin and fat that could be removed, and slight ptosis. She recommended ptosis correction to help my eyelids lift themselves up, versus me constantly using my forehead/brow muscles. I was worried that the end result would not look natural, but she explained to me how she would make a very natural looking crease, lower to the lash line. She showed me how it would look with a wire tool thing, and comparatively, how different margins of crease would look as well.
After careful consideration, I decided to go ahead with the surgery. Everyone at LEA was so considerate and on top of things. They called in an antibiotic cream at the pharmacy for me (and then again, when I let the prescription expire). I felt very taken care of. The day before surgery, I care in again and Dr. Taghva and her office patiently answered all my questions (mainly about after care, eyelid crease size).
Day of surgery went smoothly. dr. Taghva took her time to map out the incisional cuts and to explain what she was going to do. Surgery was quick and painless (besides the numbing shot), and I was out of the office in two hours. (This included all the paperwork, pre/post check, surgery itself).
I am lucky to have a smooth and quick healing time. The photos attached are afternoon less than a week! My eyes look bright and I look awake!! Most importantly, I still feel like I look like myself. It looks natural, and I can’t wait to see the final result in a couple months when all the swelling disappears.

Hi - Thank you for sharing! It looks great! Did you do the ptosis surgery and the blepharoplasty? I have a similar issue and just saw a doctor that recommended ptosis which I had never heard of before, so just starting to explore it and curious if most people get both operations or just the ptosis.
