Easy, Straightforward, Painless
I had an amazing experience with Dr. Taban for my lower blepharoplasty! After consulting with a few other surgeons in Beverly Hills, I’m so happy I chose him—his before-and-after photos spoke for themselves. I also appreciated that he doesn't push general anesthesia unnecessarily. Another doctor’s office told me I would need it, but I trusted my gut and am so glad I didn’t go that route. In my case, it was completely unnecessary. Dr Taban helped me feel empowered in my choices and that goes a long way for feeling safe with a doctor.
I had genetic under-eye fat pads that became more pronounced with age and weight loss, and they were my biggest insecurity. Dr. Taban made the entire process easy and stress-free. I had my consultation on 12/18 and was able to book surgery for 1/28 (winter is usually busier!). He is calm, knowledgeable, and soft-spoken—not a “salesman” type, which I really appreciated.
The week before surgery, I received my pre-op instructions along with a few prescriptions for surgery day, antibiotics, and Tylenol for after. I also took arnica and bromelain for two weeks beforehand to help with swelling.
Surgery was at 9 AM. I took my prescribed meds 15 minutes before, was driven in, and laid on the table. Dr. Taban played relaxing music, and I felt zero pain— it felt like a spa treatment with no sensation at all (and I’m a huge baby with needles!). I was most afraid for the injections but did not feel them. 30–40 minutes later, I was done! I had double vision for an hour or two afterward but still no pain. I went home, slept off the meds, and by the evening, the double vision was gone. Looking down or to the side felt tight but not painful for about a week.
Recovery took about two weeks. I slept on a wedge pillow with a neck travel pillow to prevent rolling over. I avoided bending over or elevating my heart rate for about a week. At my one-week follow-up, my bandages were removed, and Dr. Taban took out the knots anchoring the repositioned fat. I had minimal bruising and looked good enough to go out in public. By the second week, I was back to normal life, including exercise.
I am thrilled with both the process and my results. I look amazing and can’t thank Dr. Taban and his team enough. If you’re considering lower blepharoplasty, I highly recommend him and have already referred a few people from real life :)
