No, don't do this unless medically necessary at an old age
NO, Don't Ever Do This Unless Medically Neccessary at an Old Age and with Oculoplastic Surgeon
NO. It is my mission to keep people away from this mutilating surgery.
Young folks, don't even think about it. I've learned so much through this nightmare... the worst decision of my life.
You don't know what to search for until it's happening to you. All I could find about this procedure was how easy it was and how much people loved their results.
-You will have crepey skin and downturned lashes. Your anatomy will be forever marred.
-hooded eyes will never look good with more platform. I totally misunderstood the beauty of hooded eyes. You will look unfamiliar if you create more platform. It will haunt you in the mirror.
-eye function could be forever affected. This was so downplayed. I've had dry eyes and pulling. I can't forget for one second that this happened. It is torture.
-Removing fat is removing youth. You will look worse. Every time.
-Removing muscle is barbaric and will decrease your blink function... possibly forever. I can't close my eyes fully at night.
-You will long for your old self back every waking and sleeping hour, and have nightmares.
-Many surgeons perform cookie cutter procedures and will not listen or truly warn you of the risks. They want your money. Do not be prey. Do not trust them to have your best interest in mind. You will have no recourse if and when something goes wrong.
- If you think you're obsessing over your eyelids now, wait until your surgery goes wrong.
Please consider googling botched blephs, including Renee Zellweger. Even if the surgery is well done... you may not look like yourself. This can be devastating and maddening.
Think of all the ways you could spend that money. Think of all the peace of mind you could gain by choosing to love yourself, even if imperfectly. Think of how amazing it is that God created your eyes perfectly and ages them perfectly.
Think of how amazing it is to go to sleep at night with your eyes shut! That is something I've taken for granted my whole life, but never again.
Please love yourself. You are so beautiful.
Seriously, if you find the right forums, SO many people feel this surgery made them look so much worse. They would give anything to take back their decision. I'm one of them.
THE RISK IS IMMENSE. Even a mediocre result can ruin your entire life. Just don't do it.
