Surgery 30 March - KTOP clinic

It has been 5 intense days jumping from clinic to clinic. 2 doctors said I have ptosis that needs correction in order to do the double eyelid and epic. The other 3 said I have mild ptosis which doesn’t need correction. Everyone recommended double eyelid + epic for a more balanced result.

My most important requirements for this surgery are:
1: Doctor has to be board qualified
2: Be able to perform the tension free, skin redraping epicanthoplasty (less scarring technique)
3: I’d appreciate if they worked in Korea where they are highly experienced with Asian eyelid surgeries
4: Top reviews of the clinic
5: Exceptional English to avoid miscommunication
6: Someone who carefully listens to my needs and discuss the possible outcomes with me

I’ve been doing a lot of research so I know exactly what I want. One clinic refused my case and told me my expectations were too high. This Dr said that the tension free epic method only worked for the muscle and she seemed confused by what I asked for. She also said that in my case my epicanthal folds are so big that scars can’t be avoided. Another clinic said scars can’t be avoided as well and that 20% of his patients has to be treated with steroids for scarring. He also rec to only to a mini blepharoplasty instead of full incision. One clinics Dr spent 5 minutes with me and was 9 months pregnant, do I have to tell you I didn’t proceed with them lol? (If anyone wants more info about the clinic/Dr names etc feel free to PM me)

Final decision: After a lot of questions and thinking I’ve decided with KTOP clinic. They tick off all my requirements and I feel like I’m gonna be in good hands with them. They confirmed that the epic will be performed with the technique I want. I’ve sent them pictures I gathered from the other clinics, Z-Y epics, and told them I don’t want same and they confirmed back that that’s not the technique they use at their clinic. They also informed me that the aftercare is highly important to keep it as scar-free as possible. Dr Pannawat also confirmed that ptosis correction is not needed to even out my asymmetrical eyes. 85% of their customers are foreigners and they spent the most consultation time with me out of all clinics. They are really good at answering/explaining things and made me feel very comfortable from the minute I walked into their clinic. Bow, the consultant assistant clearly explained how they also value the aftercare and make sure that they follow up even after the surgeries has been done and you step out of the surgery room. Basically that their job is not done until the healing is fully done. I think that was a very thoughtful point.

My surgery date: 30 March.

Blepharoplasty + Magic Epicanthoplasty Bangkok

I’m in the process of finding a clinic for my Incisional Double eyelid + Magic Epicanthoplasty (tension free inner corner) surgery end of March. I’m Asian, I have 2 different eyes with one hooded folded non visible crease and one without any crease at all, which makes one eye bigger than the other. The most annoying thing for me is to do my makeup (one of my biggest passions in life) with 2 completely different eyes and also raising my eyebrow/forehead to constantly look more awake/alert and not bored.

I am 32 years old and have been thinking about this for about 5 years. I’m happy I decided to do this now later in life since methods of procedures have developed to the better throughout the last few years. The methods before (Z-Epicanthoplasty) could leave bad scarring on your inner corner due to the incision made adjacent opposed to within (magic epi). I also know the decision will be well thought through, researched and nothing rushed.

I lived in Thailand for 10 years and I am confident that I rather do it here than back home in Sweden when I move back later this year. They are used to Asian eyes here and a bonus is that it’s more than half the price of what I would need to pay back home. And I don’t want to travel somewhere far to do it. Of course Korea would be the destination if I did. Now I can fly to Bkk, 1 1/2 hour away, and have my clinic “close by” in case of any complications. I’m not working now for the next 2 months so this is the perfect timing for me to do this.

The 5 clinics I’ve been speaking to through via FB and LINE has been incredibly helpful and thoughtful. They all have been practicing the techniques I’m looking to do. Answering ALL my questions, even to late into nights. Some of them almost feels like talking with friends which is so comforting. Some clinics communication is of course better than other English wise and customer/friendly wise. This will help me move along with my questions quicker, get a general feel of their customer service, so I can do a comfortable well informed decision later on.

I’ve sent them photos for quick evaluation. 2 of them thinks I might have slight ptosis.
One says no and recommends me to NOT undergo ptosis correction due to that I have undereye ptosis as well and that will make my eye look too big instead. This can not be diagnosed until I go for consultations 23-26 March.
I myself do not believe I have it, but let’s hope for the best!

I’v been quoted 45900 thb - 60000 thb (not included possible ptosis correction).
I know that my decision will not depend on the price, my feeling after the consultations will help me validate my final choice of clinic.

One of the main concerns I have is that, one of my top two clinics of choice has plastic surgeons and not ocuplastic surgeons. But they have been trained at Grand hospital in Korea. I will need to ask for the surgeons experience on my consultations I guess.

I have attached a before picture here so you can follow my journey.
