Terrible experience—About 3 weeks after surgery, I knew something was very wrong

Terrible Experience

$8,000
Going to Dr. Narasimhan for my blepharoplasty in Aug 2020 was the biggest regret of my life so far. Literally. There were so many things wrong, it's hard to know where to begin. (I don't like leaving negative reviews for any provider, but in this case, I feel it necessary to warn potential patients who are researching him, might put their trust in him, only to end up disappointed and traumatized)About 3 weeks after surgery, I knew something was very wrong. My creases were way too high, my eyes were extremely asymmetrical (when they weren't before surgery) and I couldn't close my right eye completely. Dr. Narasimhan gave me three steroid injections in my eye over the next three months and was very casual about everything. He said just give it time. Six months later, I still had those same complications, but Dr. Narasimhan shrugged them off and said, and I quote, "Even though it's not perfect, it's within the realm of expectation, since nothing is guaranteed". I was so devastated. I shared my feelings with him, and he only responded that Volbella injections, at my expense, might help. So he injected Volbella, and it only made matters worse! Eight months after surgery, I still couldn't close my right eye completely and both my upper and lower lids looked horrible. It was so bad that I didn't feel comfortable allowing people to see me without sunglasses on. I can't even describe the despair I felt. And to make matters worse, Dr. Narasimhan didn't seem to care.I went to 3 different oculo-plastic surgeons for second, third, and fourth opinions, at my expense, and after an in-person exam, they ALL concurred my results were unfortunate and abnormal. After much trauma and anguish, I recently had a second surgery by an oculo-plastic surgeon in another state who specializes in reconstructive surgery. He was astounded by the sloppy work of Dr. Narasimhan, as well as important details left out of Dr. Narasimhan's surgical report. After my surgery with the 2nd surgeon, I can finally close my right eye all the way, and my lids are greatly improved. However, the right eye may never look normal again due to the damage done by Dr. Narasimhan. In writing, I asked for a partial refund from Dr. Narasimhan to go towards the high expense of my second surgery (a surgery done for the sole purpose of attempting to correct the damage done by the first surgery), but he only offered me exactly $359! And that was contingent upon me signing a legal document, which I declined. It was such an insult. If you are thinking about having eyelid surgery, go to a very experienced oculo-plastic surgeon. If you are thinking about having any other type of surgery with Dr. N, you might want to reconsider. My life and my confidence have been forever changed by this experience and the lack of proper care he gave me.

I agree with your assessment of this doctor. M experience was similar. I had a primary rhinoplasty with him last year and it was the worst decision I've made. I just recently had to have a revision because he messed my nose up so badly. I think he needs more experience and maybe training to fine tune these procedures that really affect a person's face!!!!! My nose looked absolutely horrendous after he got ahold of it. Super devastating!!
