Upper Blepharoplasty, 26

ORIGINAL POST

Upper Blepharoplasty, 26

WORTH IT
I had an upper blepharoplasty with Mr Ezra on 9th December 2020. I’m a 26 year old female who has always had a little flap of excess skin on each eyelid meaning my eyes were always quite hooded and had no visible contour in the crease. My inner corners were also mostly covered by this flap of skin and not much eyelid was visible with my eyes open.
I first met Mr Ezra at my consultation in August 2020. He’s one of the nicest doctors I’ve ever met. It was a really pleasant experience and I felt he really, really, listened to what I disliked about my lids and what I was hoping could be achieved with the procedure. I previously had my nose done, and the surgeon for that surgery couldn’t have been less interested in what I had to say - I was therefore so impressed with Mr Ezra!
He was very honest with me and wasn’t afraid to spell out to me the risks and the limitations of what we could achieve, but I had every confidence I was choosing the right surgeon as he seemed to be fully on the same page with me about what I was hoping for.
Fast forward to the day of surgery and everything went as planned. I chose to have local anaesthetic without sedation and I would say that if I were to do it again, I would 100% pay to have the sedation. I don’t know if everyone has the same experience, but I genuinely found the pain from the local anaesthetic injections unbearable and I felt quite stressed for the rest of the procedure. Mr Ezra and his team were so lovely to me throughout the procedure though, chatting with me and making sure I was alright. One of the nurses even came and held my hand!
I was discharge I’d say within a couple of hours after my procedure although when I was leaving, I ran up 3 flights of stairs (lift was broken and I felt fine). This wasn’t a very good idea as I went all faint. Luckily the team looked after me and kept me in until I was fine to go home.
I got my stitches out a week later and that was absolutely fine.
The recovery was SUPER easy. Literally zero discomfort - not one painkiller was taken! And I was really pleasantly surprised by how fast my eyes healed up - I’d say the wounds were completely closed by the 7th or 8th day.
I’m super super super happy with the result. I now look the way I feel I should look, if that makes sense. Mr Ezra was careful not to take away too much skin and fat, but the difference is really noticeable - I can now do winged eyeliner without my hooded lids getting in the way! I’m also really happy with how much the inner corners of my eyelids have opened up, I think my eyes look so much bigger! My scars started off a bit lumpy on the inner and outer corners, but I’m now 6 weeks post-op and they’re nearly totally flat already. The scars are currently a slightly different colour to the surrounding skin, but this is easily covered by concealer, especially as they aren’t really raised.
I couldn’t recommend Mr and his team any more, they’re all genuinely delightful, warm, kind people and I felt in very safe hands the whole time!

You look great!
Hiya, have you got anymore updated recovery pictures now more time has past? Would be most grateful.
Thank you
You look amazing!! I’m thinking of having the same procedure but I keep putting it off because I’m worried the healing/swelling will take time to go (I work front of house for a hotel and I can get 2 weeks holiday, but when I go back I need to be able to face customers without it being obvious.)
May I ask how long it was for you before the swelling had gone down to a point where you couldn’t really tell you’d had surgery? Thank you
