Thank you for the zoomed in photos which show no under eye lid scarring, amazing! I believe you had mid-face lift, right? Did the skin under your eye improve in appearance as a result of the surgery?
The appearance of the skin definitely improved, but I had severe hollowing under the eyes before surgery (noted by 2 different eye surgeons in London). Daniel Ezra recommended that I have filler injections (as there was not enough tissue to fill out area under my eyes, but I was reluctant to go down that route as it would only last about 2 years. I may do so in the future.
Did you ever have filler around the eyes?
Thank you very much for your very helpful reply.
ORIGINAL POST
Lower Eyelid Blepharoplasty
I went to two different blepharoplasty specialists in London to discuss tratment, and both told me the same thing about my eye bags and the hollowing under my eyes, which exaggerated the look of my eye bags. I decided to go for lower eye blepharoplasty with Daniel Ezra and would not hesitate to recommend him or Mr Raval, my anesthetist. I was a bit apprehensive at first, but my procedure went extremely well.
I did not feel any pain after the Surgery, just a bit groggy. During my first night's sleep I was wary of maybe pulling the stitches.
The paperwork I received prior to my procedure recommended taking arnica tablets (as did Nurse Jackie), for sometime before, and after surgery. I was skeptical about this herbal remedy at first, but perhaps they did have a positive effect as I was very surprised at how quickly I healed. I went back to work about 3 weeks after my procedure and no one noticed I had had surgery (exactly the result I was looking for). People could see the difference when I showed them the picture of me before the procedure.
I was given various ointments and some bandages to take home afterwards. In hindsight, I should have used the eye pads and plastic cups for 2-3 nights after surgery, or even longer, because on the third or forth night at home - half a sleep, I rubbed my eye. It woke me up, and I was concerned enough to go to the bathroom to see if I had pulled the stitches or was bleeding. Fortunately I wasn't. If I'd had the pads on, I don't think this would have happened.
I went back up to London after 6 days to have my stitches removed, it didn't hurt, but was just slightly uncomfortable, and it felt great to have them out.
As I said, I would recommend Daniel Ezra's practice, very professional and reassuring. This is not a cheap procedure, but it's on your face, so it is a big deal. I would rather have it done properly than live with unhappy results that would cost even more to correct...and that's if they could be.

How much did the procedure actually cost?
It cost around £7700 (December 2020), but £1100 of that was for a midface lift procedure, due to the hollowing under my eyes around the cheeks
Thank you, that's really helpful.
