Photos for my journey review

WORTH IT
Photo journal of recovery to date. I posted my review previously without the photos and adding them now. I hope this provides a realistic view of my journey. So many of the photos in here make me think others' journeys were easier and with so much more glamorous results. Maybe US doctors use different techniques from European. Overall though I still feel happy and know I have to be patient for residual swelling and scarring to go down. It is just that hematoma under my left eye that I am worried about.

Is there some reason you don’t mention the doctors name?

Direct brow lift, upper and lower Bleph

After looking permanently tired and angry, even when rested and happy, I decided on a direct brow lift, upper and lower bleph. The procedure was done under sedation (propafonol). The sedation was the right decision from my point of view. Immediately after I had some pain, but this disappeared within 24 hours and was easily managed with Dafalgan and Novalgin. I used a cold pack for shooting and swelling.

I am now 4 weeks post op. The scars above my eyebrows will take time to fade, but I am happy with the result. The upper bleph is healing well. The lower bleph is definitely the most difficult. Until the third week my eyes teared and burned, but this has settled down. The lower eyelids are still turned out, but I think this is normal and feel this is improving with time and healing as well. The lower bleph scar is a bit bumpy in the outside corner and this as well I think will settle in time.

My biggest concern is a hematoma that formed under my left eye 10 days post op. It is elongated and feels like hard gel. My doctor says it should reabsorb in time and I should massage it. However, I am a bit sceptical and worried about leaving it to harden over time. I do not really know what to do about it.

I am overall happy with my healing at this point of my journey, but this visible bump under my eye is worrying me and I am not sure if it is normal and if I should just relax and be patient about it. I attach some photos pre-op and at various phases of healing along the way.
