Lower blepharoplasty. Amazed with results by Dr. Taban!!

I had lower eye bags due to heredity and it affected my self esteem. I hated looking tired, or as if I’d been crying, when in fact I was well rested and happy. Today is 10 days post procedure and I’m amazed with the results of my lower blepharoplasty performed by Dr. Taban. I’m in disbelief that I “healed” so quickly. I was prepared for months of swelling, which is a realistic expectation for any procedure, however my bruising is gone and the swelling is minimal. (It disappeared days 9 and 10).
History: I’d been researching this procedure for 10 years. I never felt comfortable proceeding with any surgeon until I came across Dr. Taban. I found him on RealSelf, and then followed him on Instagram. Dr. Taban is a triple board certified oculoplastic surgeon. Instead of feeling nervous on procedure day, I felt excited because I knew I was in great hands.
Consultation: Although I had a Facetime consultation weeks earlier, I arrived a day early to do an in-person one too. I highly recommend everyone do this. We discussed my concerns, went over my history, and I showed a few old photos. Based on the consultation, it was decided to change the procedure we’d initially planned and I was 100% on board and comfortable with the decision. My baggy eyes weren’t just from fat, but also from excess skin and old filler.
Procedure day: I took the Xanax in the office. Dr. Taban injected my bags with an enzyme to remove any filler left behind. I went to the next room for the procedure. I lay down on a table and he injected my lower eyes to numb it. The procedure was painless, but I could somewhat tell what was going on. He made an external incision at my lash line, repositioned the fat under my eyes, removed excess skin, then closed the incision with dissolvable sutures. I’m so impressed that no one can tell I had an external incision. Dr. Taban is an artist.
Recovery: Immediately after, I had a lot of discomfort and took a pain pill in the office. My eyes were oozing watery red tears and I was afraid to wipe them. I went to my Airbnb and took it easy. Days 1 & 2 post procedure I looked horrible, lots of swelling but zero pain. I took the pain medication and antibiotics as prescribed. Days 3-4 swelling slightly better, went out in public didn’t wear glasses, but I still looked bad. Day 5 returned to work, it didn’t look like I had anything done due to swelling. Day 6, I had a follow up via FaceTime with Dr. Taban. It was very short and he asked me to send a pic in one month. Over days 7-10 the swelling continued to disappear each day. Again, today is day 10 and I’m still healing, but I look better today than I did before the procedure.
I highly recommend Dr. Taban. I did the research for you, so you don’t need to look any further. Feel free to ask questions, but that’s pretty much it.
