Immediately after the machine (Cool Max-largest applicator) was placed and turned on, took my breath away. I actually was not sure this was normal since it was quite uncomfortable the entire 1 hour procedure. The doctor was doing each side of my abdomen in two separate stages that morning. I felt nauseous and had heartburn. When the unit was removed and the doctor proceeded to massage my belly I felt like vomiting and was very lightheaded. Needless to say it was recommended I wait a week before having the other side done. I felt fine after about 10mins. but they would not do the other side. I was disappointed since I didn't want to go through this again or be behind a weeks time from one side to the other. I scheduled for the following week.

The first few days were not terrible but this past weekend I wanted to crawl under a rock and die. The itching, pain, spasms are intense at times and it causes more nausea. I phoned the doctor today (4-11-16) and asked for medicine to help with the symptoms. I told the nurse about what I was experiencing and thinks the doctor will cancel tomorrow's procedure to the other side. I was dreading having it done again but know I have to for an even result and being behind in recovery is also a concern.

I agree with most that we are not given ALL the information on what to expect after this procedure. I found it most helpful reading everyone's experience and feeling I wasn't alone in aftermath effects.

Two things that I started today was wearing a compression garment with a flexible ice pack wedge in. The cold and pressure actually is relieving much of the symptoms.

I am trying to be a warrior throughout this process and only hope it works because I would not do this again. I am 52 years old, 5'9" 124lbs and only went through this because of a muffin top and hearing about the procedure lowering my A1c for my type 1 diabetes.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Are you still planning on moving forward with the process?

I did have the other side done last Tuesday. As of last Friday I haven't slept through the night due to extreme burning pain. The doctor did place me on Neurontin but it does not seem to help. The only relief I get is wearing an ice pack around the clock. I do have a follow up today due to my symptoms. I'm hoping I am over the hump soon since my other side is comfortable again at 2 weeks.
I honestly didn't realize this would be so painful and I do have a high pain threshold.
I only hope my result will be good as I would NEVER revisit this procedure.
I must say, my surgeon Dr. Stefan and his assistant Betty are wonderful and compassionate and don't hold them accountable for my bad experience.

Hello darling. I am a 38 yo type 1 diabetic who has had two cool-sculpting procedures. I was not aware that this procedure helped to lower A1C, thanks for informing me of this. During the cool sculpting procedure was tolerable after the first 10 minutes or so. Post procedure, days 2-5 were a bit uncomfortable, but I was fine with ibuprofen. I experienced the itching and pain for a couple days. I would rate my pain a level 4 out of 10.

Considering we’re both type 1s, could your prolonged healing and pain be due to other complications such as nerve or circulation due to simply being a type 1 diabetic.

Seeing Results!

Krissy1964
It's been a little over 1 month and I can see dramatic improvement in my belly bulge. After having gone through this I will certainly keep up with exercising to keep the results. I still would not go through this procedure again but must say it worked for me!
