HORRIBLE Experience. Danger, Pain, Debt, Terrible Results.
I got a fat transfer to breast along with breast implant removal.
I followed ALL post-op instructions such as moving around every 15-20 minutes, even while I was laying down I’d move my legs, which my assigned nurse could attest to. I drank lots of water, ate protein rich foods, ate foods high in fat, slept only on my back, and STILL ended up with a DVT, a deep vein thrombosis, a dangerous blood clot that is an emergency.
Had I listened to Dr.Calva, who knows what would have happened to me. He kept telling me that I was just feeling pain from my liposuction, and to take ibuprofen!!! My legs swelled up twice their normal size and I would feel a sharp burning pain in my leg when I’d move. So I contacted one of his PAs again and left her a looooong email with as much detail as I could in hopes that at least she would be able to tell me something about what I was experiencing. And guess what? She did. She said I needed to go to the emergency room and get checked for a DVT. I asked her if I could schedule an appt for it with a doctor and she said that I needed to go to the ER to get checked asap. So I did and I was diagnosed with a fkn DVT. I’ve had surgeries before. And with those past surgeries I didn’t even abide by my doctors wishes or post-op care because I was young and dumb, and nothing g happened to me with those past surgeries. But this time I was a grown woman getting surgery. With more wisdom and a sense of responsibility. And followed all the rules and ended up in danger.
And that’s when I found out he has killed previous patients, guess how? From DVTs. How this man is still in business? I have no idea. At first with my DVT diagnosis, I was forgiving. I thought, you know what, what can I do, I signed papers stating I was aware bad things could happen from the surgery. So I tried the whole, forgive and let go thing, the whole, be courteous and polite thing and move on. So we even discussed doing a second surgery because on top of the DVT, my results? We’re CRAP. He positioned one breast almost an inch and a half LOWER than the other. And it’s ACTUALLY NOTICEABLE when I wear bathing suits or sports bras at the gym. And they lost ALL OF THE FAT. And another thing, he took fat from places he wasn’t supposed to, places we NEVER agreed on before the surgery. The size they are? Oh, they’re fkn A cups. 25 thousand dollars for A CUPS and a DVT. I’ve been on expensive a** blood thinner medication for 7 months. I developed a weird thing with my heart where it would skip a beat for a second, reset and knock the air out of my lungs. I have NERVE damage on both of my sides and my left hand goes numb without reason and my fingers tingle from the numbness and my leg gets a sharp shooting pain when I do basic stretches. All because of HIM. And what does he say? Nothing. Have I ever received even an apology? NO. What did I get? Blamed. I was blamed for the DVT. I was gaslit about the nerve damage and the damage to my hand. I got imaging tests done on my arm, because of the tingling. And the numbness and you know what the doctor said? That normally this (numbness) is due to neurological issues but in the brain scans they did on me they said the numbness and tingling wasn’t due to neurological issues. So all in all I paid 25K for nerve damage that is still loud and present after 7 months, a DVT, medical debt with the hospital for my DVT diagnosis and the imaging lab tests they did on my arm and brain for the numbness, and A cup breasts. I am BEYOND pissed. He should be barred from practicing. He should have been barred from practicing already since he has killed multiple patients. I now have to take blood tests and will be on either blood thinner medication, which costs almost $600 a month, for the rest of my life, or have to take aspirin at the very least every day for the rest of my life because once you get a DVT, you’re then susceptible to them. I never had ANY of these issues before I met him. Save yourself from the pain, trouble, danger, debt and horrible results and avoid this man, avoid the whole damn center they practice at.
