Excellent Revision Rhinoplasty Experience with Dr Sebastiano Sciuto

Back in August 2017 I made the biggest mistake of my life and had my primary rhinoplasty with an inexperienced surgeon after doing barely any research, the results were very poor and I actually fainted when I saw my nose after the cast came off. I spent months on realself reading reviews, messaging users and emailing surgeons. I was so nervous and anxious, the first rhinoplasty had been so traumatic and had left me miserable and depressed, I hated even leaving the house and hated seeing people who I knew because they would just stare at my nose because it was so obvious that I had had a nose job and it was so botched. I have also posted a review for my primary rhinoplasty on this site so have a read of that.
I was initially considering Dr Lucian Ion for my revision surgery, I emailed his clinic and was told that he was no longer doing revisions at the time and they suggested Dr Nazim Cerkes in Turkey, I made a post asking users about their experience with him on this site and I was sent private messages from users who told me to stay away from him. So the search continued, I stumbled across two Italian surgeons after reading reviews on this site, Dr Pietro Palma and Dr Sebastiano Sciuto, both of these surgeons are excellent and have years of experience, I messaged users on this site to hear about their experiences from these surgeons and they were positive. I emailed both surgeons and sent photos of my nose. In the end I decided on Dr Sebastiano Sciuto since he used the open rhinoplasty method whereas Dr Pietro Palma uses the closed method of surgery. On their websites I also thought the results achieved for revision rhinoplasty were better on Dr Sebastiano Sciuto’s site as he has managed to fix similar noses to mine.
I initially emailed Dr Sciuto in April 2018 and arranged a consultation for 28th June 2018, the consultation was 150 euros. I flew from London Stansted airport to Rome Ciampino. I got the shuttle bus from the airport to Roma Termini station which cost around 5 euros. I then got a cab to his clinic, the cab ride was about 10 minutes. This is the easiest route for anyone travelling from the UK. My consultation with Dr Sciuto was completely different to my consultation with Dr Cahit Vural when I had my primary rhinoplasty. Dr Sciuto was so professional, we met in his office and the consultation lasted over an hour, I listed all the issues with my nose and he listened. He took professional photos and told me what I could realistically expect from surgery. He was honest and told me that my nose would not be perfect but that he could definitely improve the appearance of my nose. He recommended that I should avoid having a rib graft to build up my nose bridge and that it would be better to use cartilage from within my nose instead. He told me he could straighten my bridge and make my nose slimmer and refine the tip. We sat for quite a while and he showed me simulations on his computer until we both agreed on an outcome that I was happy with and which he could realistically achieve. I made sure we covered everything, Dr Sciuto was very kind and understanding, he is also softly spoken. I booked my surgery for July 11th 2018.
Dr Sciuto emailed me the photos he had taken along with the simulation and quoted me £7960 for surgery and an overnight stay at the hospital. I flew to Rome again on July 10th the day before my surgery. I got to the hospital early on the morning of my surgery and sorted out payment, I paid in cash but I believe you can also pay via bank transfer. I met dr Sciuto again before the surgery and he checked up on me. The hospital stay was pleasant, all the staff spoke good English and the surgery went very well. I had much less swelling that I had after my primary rhinoplasty. Dr Sciuto removed my cast after a week and I was very happy with the results, it was such a different experience to my first rhinoplasty and I was so relieved that it had gone well.
It has now been a whole year since I had my revision rhinoplasty with Dr Sciuto and I am so grateful to him for giving me my life back. The healing process went very well and swelling subsided. My nose isn’t perfect but its so much better than it was before and I no longer think about my nose, no onc can even tell that I’ve had a nose job because it looks so natural. I would highly recommend this surgeon, the consultation, surgery and aftercare were excellent from start to finish. I hope this review helps people who are in search of a revision surgeon, I remember how hopeless I felt after my botched primary surgery. You really do get what you pay for, I made the mistake of going to my first surgeon because he was cheap, it’s better to go to a more experienced and expensive surgeon the first time around and avoid so much hassle. Feel free to private message me with any questions you have, I’m more than happy to try and help out.
