Excel V Redness Treatment Redness and Swelling

I had an Excel V treatment done to treat some post inflammatory erythema spots on the sides of my cheeks. It has been 7 days and the redness has not gone away. My face swelled like a balloon for the first 3 days post procedure and I couldn’t open one of my eyes, so I used an ice pack to take the swelling down but might have left it on too long near my eyes. I am afraid the redness is permanent? Did I ruin my skin? My dermatologist who performed the procedure prescribed prednisone to take the swelling down yesterday and I just took my second dose today but I haven’t noticed any improvement in redness. Not sure how long it is going to take for the redness to go away. I’ve been freaking out. Not sure this procedure was worth it.

Hi! I just had the same treatment done, and I am experiencing the same redness that was not there prior. Did the redness revolve?
The redness did subside but it took a long time. My dermatologist who performed the treatment said the red marks were due to leaving the ice compress on for too long. My dermatologist said to use a cold wash cloth in the future because too much ice can effect the blood vessels. I still don’t know if it was truly the ice packs because I didn’t feel like I left them on that long and the red patches were there after the laser treatment was performed, so not sure. To-date, I still have some subtle redness now near the top of my cheeks but it is significantly better than it was before and the rest of the redness has calmed down and my skin looks better than it did before. The prednisone also helped take all swelling away.
*resolve?
Yes, it resolved. How is your redness?
