Bad Result

I went to my dermatologist for an Excel V treatment for some broken capillaries around my nose and on my cheeks. I wish I had never done it. I don't know if it's how my skin reacted or what happened, but the area under my cheeks and adjacent to my mouth have now developed prominent lines. It's as if the procedure aged me by 5-10 year in the course of a few weeks. I feel sick to my stomach when I look in the mirror. I merely wanted to reduce redness but had I known I would have never subjected myself to this procedure. In a terrible twist of fate, I now am consulting with a plastic surgeon about a lower face lift to address the lines. I'm a pretty natural person, I barely wear make-up and now I'm having to decide if I should have plastic surgery to correct the damage from the treatment, it's a nightmare snowball effect. I went to a licensed, board trained doctor for the Excel V. I'll post pictures, but I am hoping to keep someone else from making the mistake I made.

Hey, I messaged you personally too. I'm so sorry to hear about what happened to you with the laser treatment. What kind of laser did they use, and what wavelength? Has your skin improved at all? I am looking into getting a cutera XEO treatment to correct damage done by a different procedure, but im afraid of making it worse.
I'm sorry I just saw this. I don't know about the wavelength. It was an Excel V laser/ My face swelled so badly that I was unrecognizable for nearly a week. When I see that people say you can go back to work after the treatment I think that I must have a had an extreme reaction. I just want people to be careful about all of these laser and pulsed dye treatments. You might be better off with a gentle peel and going very slowly before subjecting yourself to potential skin damage.
Did your face calm down and is everything okay now? Or were there any permanent skin problems?
Again, I didn't see that you had asked this until now. I'm sorry. I had skin laxity and some lines that both seemed to be a result of the Excel V treatment I had. It aged me years in a matter of weeks, I'm not sure if it's just me or if others have had this happen. I ended up getting a face and neck lift (which I'm happy about). I'll never do another laser or pulsed dye treatment and I hope others can be cautioned by my experience.
You didn’t mention PDL in your review. Have you had that done as well?
Thank you so much for your honesty. Truly hope face and neck lift have brought you back to being comfortable in your skin : )
Can you say which doctor you had this experience with? Was he or she in NJ? Thanks again!
I had a bad result from Excel V too. I didn’t get lines like you but it made my rosacea worse.
Can you share which doctor you had this experience with? Was he or she in NJ? Thank you! Feeling very concerned after reading from two people who had bad results from Excel V.
