Hi there, I thought it was about time I gave an update. This journey so far has been like a rollercoaster, lots of ups and downs.
I have good days and bad. I think all the downtime at home gives you too much time to obsess over your results. My drain site finally closed again, but now I've noticed what seems like a seroma over my incision. I going to the doctors on friday so I'll get him to check it out. I've also been feeling hard lumps from my bb up to my sternum. I msg my dr and he says that it's probably my sutures from the muscle repair and will go away in a couple of months. My bruises have almost gone, I think the arnica tabs have helped a lot.
I'm so glad I found this wonderful site realself.
It's good to know your not alone and full of information.
The doctors are great too. Taking their time to answer your questions.

Drain site reopened and bleeding again.
I'm now 10 days post op and everything seemed to be going ok. Swelling going down scar closed and healing. Then last night as I'm drying myself after a shower I start bleeding from the hole where my drain had been. I thought I'd rubbed against it and eventually it would stop. No it's still bleeding this morning. The blood is dark and watery and it won't stop bleeding. I spoke to my dr on the phone and he's not worried,he said it could be a hematoma draining out!! He's out of town so I'm going to one of his colleagues to get it checked out this afternoon. Im starting to think what have I done to myself. Mabey I should have kept that little flap of loose skin. Plus I don't see any improvement. I looked better before. Feeling rather sad today

I have to say, you really did look great before. What's done is done. We all get the "why did I do this to myself thoughts". Those thoughts will pass with time and of course as you see improvements. Complications are part of the process for many of us. It is good you are being seen right away, better to be safe then sorry. I wish you good luck with your recovery and I hope it is all worth it in the end! Take care and happy healing!

Yes, alone time will do that to a person. It does help to share your feelings with those that have gone before and others who are going through it now.

I finally did it. I've been wanting this for a long time. I'm 6 days post op and feeling good. I work in fitness and having a little extra skin after 2 pregnancies that really bothered me when I would bend over doing exercise. No matter how much I trained or dieted the skin remained to same. I got my drains out after 4 days and tomorrow my stitches will be coming out. It's still really early to see any result as I'm still pretty swollen. Here's some pics before and after. I'll keep updating.

Please do keep updating with photos and thoughts, when you can. Im in fitness as well, an instructor, and am having concerns about my loose flap when i work out in front of a crowd and the flap goes over the top of my pants. They probably dont' even notice it, but I do and it distracts me from my teaching. I only seem to really care about the flap when I'm working out or when i'm teaching. Other than that, I dont mind it so much. But i have been working so hard for years and i just want my body to look the way i feel i deserve it to look. I hope this works out for you. Your BEFORE pictures were amazing. My flap of skin is bigger than yours, i think. haha. I had polyhydramnios in both pregnancies, plus pre eclampsia which had me so swollen i was unrecognizable at the end. My stomach got SUPER big with my second pregnancy. Now i'm left with all the stretched skin that I can lift up and tuck my hands underneath. thank good ness for compression leggings. hahahaha.

Yeah working in fitness can make you feel you need to be perfect.
I did this because it really did annoy me while doing exercise,especially quats.
When standing I had no loose skin at all but as soon as I was bending over it was out.lol

You looked amazing before. We are our own worst critics. I have lots of stretch marks and extra skin. I’m thinking about getting a TT.
