Very happy with the outcome of my rhinoplasty. In...

Very happy with the outcome of my rhinoplasty. In May of 2011 I had a septoplasy/rhinoplasty done. My insurance covered the septoplasty, I paid the rhinoplasty portion. I mainly wanted to breathe through my nose again at night, it was getting so bad I was waking with dry mouth. I saw a plastic surgeon who is also an ENT. The first few days after surgery are the hardest, I slept alot and took my pain meds. After getting the packing removed from my nose I could already breathe through my nose! It is a little weird getting used to a new nose at first, I was ok with my old nose, but it was big. Well after a period of several months to a year I noticed the tip was bigger than it had started out. I was on the fence about even going back to have it looked at, fearful of another surgery and the cost. Well in October 2012 I went back to my plastic surgeon and he said there was a buildup of scar tissue in my nose. I now realize if I had gone to see him sooner he could have given me steroid injections into the scar tissue to reduce the scarring. He told me he could remove the scarring right there in the office under a local. I then asked him if he could lift the tip a little more and he said ok. He then told me this would be considered revision and there would be no charge. Well November 15th I had it done. The shots were the only difficult part of course. He was very nice and explained what he was doing as he was doing it, his assistant was also very comforting. I did wear a cast for 4 days. My nose was then taped. there is very little swelling and my nose looks better than the first time! Today is day 6 and my nose tape was peeling off. I live in Oregon and got rained on , and I think the steam from the shower loosened it even though I tried to keep it dry. I went ahead and removed the tape, and I am so happy with the result! For once in my life I am happy with my nose.A quick phone call to his office and I was able to re-tape my nose myself,as I am in the medical field, and will keep it taped 5 more days as per instruction. I am 46 years old, and probably would not have had this done if not for the septoplasty. I will closely follow up to watch for scarring and get steroid injected if need be. My overall experience was a good one, with the best part being being able to breath! It is also nice to look at you profile in a picture and not see all nose! I would do it again. The price listed is approximately my portion after insurance. My Dr. is experienced, professional, and addresses the exact reason you came in, no sales pitches.
