Seeking Ethnic Revision Rhino in UK/Turkey after botched surgery with Vik Vijh (Beauty Gurus)

I’ve been a lurker for around 3 years now and thought I had written a review before but clearly not! I had revision surgery in 2014 with Dr Vik Vijh of the BeautyGurus and was so excited at the prospect of a better defined nose with a highly rated surgeon. I really wish I had done more research as even though he had experience in revisions and had featured on many television programmes and written various published pieces, he was not the surgeon for me. His credentials were impressive but what I failed to do was find past patients to see their photos and ask about their journey.
Mr Vijh had an impeccable bedside manner and said everything I wanted to hear, even that he would adopt a reserved approach initially and then tweak my nose when healed if needed. When I came round from surgery he admitted that he stood over my open nose on the operating table and was considering just closing me back up again as he didn’t know what to do with the mess in front of him! Ummm…that sure filled me with confidence. Anyway, he explained what he DID do and then I just had to patiently wait for my nose to start the healing process. I had one stitch at each external corner (at the alar base) but these snapped a few weeks later and my nose, needless to say, widened. I saw no improvement to my tip and within no time I noticed it had dropped. I raised these concerns with Mr Vijh at my post op appointment but he dismissed them and said he wouldn’t be touching my nose again to perform a revision. To say my heart sank was an understatement. He rushed me out of his office and it was clear I was just a number because as far as he was concerned his job was done.
It’s only when I sent a before and after picture to my friend recently I realised that in terms of tip definition and overall shape, the only change after my revision was a droopy tip and a £5.5k deficit in my bank balance :(
Does anyone have any UK suggestions for surgeons experienced in revisions and ethnic rhinoplasty? I had briefly considered travelling to Turkey and going with Dr Bora Ok but his prices are now ridiculous and there’s no guarantee he will be the actual surgeon to perform the surgery. There are so many stories of students or inexperienced surgeons ghost performing for the “big” names to maximise the number of daily operations and I really don’t want to go under the knife for someone I didn’t choose let alone know existed! I raised my concerns with Dr Ok’s assistant Damla and she didn’t bother to reply which told me everything I needed to know!!
Are there any reputable and honest Turkish surgeons left?
