Tear Trough Overfill Correction - Was Petrified
ORIGINAL POST
I had my tear troughs filled with Dr Nandra and...
WORTH IT
I had my tear troughs filled with Dr Nandra and they were slightly too puffy, I suffer with allergies and while when I was slightly swollen the look was good, as the swelling subsided the product swelling stayed. He used a cannula and placed the filler deep but it left me with a little brownish stain that I really wasn't keen on, it actually looked worse from a distance (I have slight pigmentation under my eyes anyway and it seemed to accentuate it).
After reading all the horror stories about Hyalase I was freaking out but also hating my face at the same time - and the same as everyone who starts to obsess over what they don't like I decided I needed to do something about it and was willing to take the risk - stupid I know, but that is what desperation does to you. Dr Nandra agreed I was puffy and offered to add a small amount of hyalase to correct. I was petrified! It was all I could think about.
When I saw him, I voiced all my worries and concerns about tissue depletion, natural HA being affected, ruining skin texture, dents in my face, etc, etc. He assured me that he has never had any results like that. He even showed me the amount dropping out of the needle that he was putting under each eye, 0.1ml. One eye was puffier than the other but he put the same amount under each eye - one eye has now fully corrected, and the slightly puffier eye needs maybe one more drop to fully rectify.
When he administered it I felt the burning and tingling some people describe (more under one eye that the other - more under the eye that wasn't as puffy actually). It took 2 days to see the full result.
I COMPLETELY agree with people when they say this product diminishes your own HA. The tiniest droplet has made a huge difference and under both eyes, but on the eye that has corrected, I have a small/very slight/only I notice it/indentation/dip in my skin. If he had put more than that one drop in that eye I feel as though it could have been a different story.
The advice I would give is - the smallest amount, 0.1 to begin with. Who cares if you have to go back 10 times to get to a point where you are happy! It is your face and you should find a consultant who is happy to do the procedure in a way that makes you comfortable. Also - tell them your concerns and your worries, don't be afraid to talk about what you're not happy about or what you are scared of.
Obviously I still need to go back for the revision on my still slightly puffier other eye and to be honest, I may actually need a little more filler in the eye that has been corrected if I am being really picky.
I wanted to write this review to reassure people who felt like me. Even if it reassures just one person, I'm happy. If anyone wants any pictures then I'm happy to send and chat privately, just don't want to uploads them on here because of my job.

I also got the other side corrected with no problems!
