Very polite and straight to business, thought I would have to come back after my consultation but she got to work straight away. I had the setting up high as I could bare the pain, I made sure that I took no numbing medication prior and it took 1hr and a half to Clear ~ 90% of my neck and jawline hairs.

I made sure to tell her about my concerns over scarring and hyperpigmentation and she reassured me about Thermolysis and her skills. She also said she’d worked on ethnic ppl before.

I noticed some of thick hairs on my neck we’re zapped multiple times and each time the probe would be turned to find the root. I was told that this was due to tweezing the hair in the past. I noticed there were a few hairs that felt like they were being tugged out slightly - not painful but they didn’t slide out effortlessly.

Black British - Dark Skin - Appointment 2

Fearce

Prior to my second appointment I noticed that my neck hairs were healing very well and that the bumps from the first appointment had reduced. I detected no ingrown hairs from my first appointment and noticed very little regrowth which was encouraging. As my first appointment took one hour and a half I was told the second would take 30 minutes. My appointment took 35 minutes and when I left, I noticed that there were hairs that had not been removed. I also noticed that this time the plucking sensation I felt from the first appointment was a less frequent. Perhaps the technique had improved. I also had fewer red bumps immediately after the appointment - but I presume that this is because fewer hairs were removed. I told her I had used surgical spirit with aloe Vera and she advised that witch hazel was better to use than Aloe vera so I switched to Witch hazel. I noticed that the area was very itchy two days afterwards and the itchiness continued. I noticed at three days after the appointment that I started getting lots of small ingrown hairs. I thought with early intervention they could be released before scarring and hyperpigmentation starts. I emailed the electrolysis lady and she advised a chemical peel. This obviously would be additional cost so I’m going to keep and eye on my skin and try to reduce the number of ingrown hairs in the meantime
