Erbium Laser Resurfacing-Under Eye

Erbium Laser Resurfacing-Under Eye

Sunshine 001
WORTH IT
I recently had erbium laser resurfacing under my eyes done. I have already had lower blepharoplasty due to genetic under eye bags. However, after my blepharoplasty, I was left with some extra skin under my eyes which caused wrinkling that I did not have before.
My Dr. who performed the blepharoplasty suggested erbium laser resurfacing. He said it evaporates the water in the skin causing it to tighten and should help remove some of the fine lines I was experiencing. He also said I was a good candidate because I am younger (31 at the time) so my skin should recuperate very well. At the time of writing this, I am 48 hours after the procedure. I decided to write my review because I have not found anything else on real self that talks about the erbium laser specifically.
I will update later when healed and let you know if it was worth it or not.

I am having the same procedure done for my genetic festoons. The dr with be doing the erbrium laser in conjunction with removing the fat from the festoons. How does it feel after? Is the skin tight and uncomfortable?

Day 4

Sunshine 001
I had light surgery done on my right eye (in office bleph revision) which is probably why that eye seems to be worse. My under eyes were worse than I thought they would be, but they are coming along nicely. I see new healing everyday. I have been taking supplements to speed up the healing process and I swear they have been helping! I have been taking
2,000-4,000mg of vitamin C (great for collagen and new skin growth!)
2-4 caps of bromelain and turmeric on an empty stomach- Now brand. (great for swelling and bruising)
My regular multivitamin and
Glucosamine and Chondroitin

Thanks for posting this review and the pics. I am having this done tomorrow morning. Do you have a lot of itching? Any pain? I’ve read reviews about having an upset stomach after...was that the case for you?

Honestly to me the worst part is getting local anesthesia done. Once the local pain reliever was injected into my eye area I did not feel the erbium laser. However, shortly after he was done I could feel my skin burning which was uncomfortable but tolerable.

How did you sleep at night? I can’t seem to keep the balm on my face because I move around too much. How is the itchiness? Would you recommend Benadryl or hydrocortisone cream?
And lastly (sorry for so many questions...I’m on post op day 3), did U put the balm all the way to your eye line? My eyes are burning but I think it’s from the balm. But I’m scared to not put the balm around the eyes due to crusting, etc. Thanks in advance :))

To be 100 percent I used a vape pen of marijuana the first two nights (it's legal here) and I slept fine because of that. Otherwise I think the first two nights would have been fairly uncomfortable. Then burning is most likely not the balm, the burning is from the laser but ice packs help!!!! I bought small round ice packs for my eyes and they helped alot. I would definately do benadryl or hydrocortisone cream! Just stick with an aquaphor or vaseline type ointment and use ice on and off for the first 48 hours. Also take asprin for pain. (these were my doctors directions and they worked well).

I don't see an edit button. I meant to say DO NOT use benadryl or hydrocortisone cream! I repeat DO NOT! This would sting!! Also if you experience itching (I did not) this would just be your body healing. The best thing to do is eat well, use vaseline, gently wash face twice a day, ice packs on for 20 min off for 20 min for first 48 hours and be patient.

Agreed Sunshine.. Cortisone around the eyes is a definite no no. Also love the vape pen for pain management! ;)

Day 7

Sunshine 001
Healing is coming along nicely. My skin did end up doing some peeling, about 2 rounds of peeling in various places. I tried not to mess with the skin too much but I had to go in public two days ago so I did gently wipe of some of it away.
