I started looking into microblading a year ago. I have thin patchy eyebrows. I am not the best with makeup so it was a struggle drawing them in everyday. Plus my vision is not the best so they look different every day.

I wanted to do thorough research before messing with my face. I watched youtube videos about the procedure and followed artists on Instagram. I wanted to make sure the person I picked had consistent work that I felt were good results before commiting. After about 1 year of watching artists work I went to Amber Garton at enlightenMD (@byambergarton) in Dallas, TX. She is absolutely awesome. They put numbing cream on beforehand which made it completely painless. Amber spent a lot of time with me drawing the shape of eyebrows that made sense for my face shape. Then she did the actual microblading. It was quick and painless. At first they are really dark but they definitely soften up and the color lightens after the healing phase. I went back for the 2nd application as recommended at the 6 week mark in September. I had a few light patches and she went just slightly darker the 2nd round. I am now at the 4 week post 2nd application point and I love my eyebrows and would definitely do it again. Amber talked about the steps to care for my brows during healing and provided detailed follow-up documentation. I also had eyeliner done for the first time and love it. I really can't say enough good things about Amber and enlightenmd and my experience there. Everyone is very nice and they take good care of you. Amber is an eyebrow making unicorn.

I've read a lot of reviews from people upset the day of or day after because they are freaked out at the darkness. Do your research and talk to your artist about what to expect people! They go through a healing phase and will be dark but will lighten up a lot almost seeming to go away then the pigment comes back but a softer color. I imagine it depends on the skill of the artist in color recommendations, application and what type of pigments they use as well. But this process takes time and patience. I am shocked at how many people immediately try to remove them. I firmly believe in research and managing expectations. I hope this helps!

So one procedure cost $720? Maybe I need to go to school and learn how to do it.

That was for both 1st and 2nd procedures.

Your brows look wonderful! I agree with doing ones research and knowing the healing phases. I am delighted with my results in large part because I now have the right shape brows for my face! I have some gray hairs in my natural brow, so I use a colored brow gel that takes a few seconds to swipe on and "boom" I'm ready for the day.

Thank you! I have been using a clear brow gel by Anastasia just to make sure my hairs don't get unruly. What brand are you using if you don't mind sharing, I want to pick up a color brow gel too.

I use Glo Minerals in taupe because that matches my coloring best. They have other colors including "clear".
