So I decided to go for a Vaginoplasty with Dr Les...
So I decided to go for a Vaginoplasty with Dr Les Blackstock after very close friends recommended him. I also did my research and found amazing reviews online.
I was in contact with him since January and spoke with him and his staff quite a few times actually. I'm naturally quite an anxious person so it took time before I finally bit the bullet and went ahead with surgery.
A few days Prior to surgery I had started taking stool softeners to help with bowel movement after surgery.
The day of surgery all was well I was under anaesthetic and didn't have any pain. The nurses were lovely. The whole procedure went smoothly. I had loose skin at the opening of my vagina and I could see all of it had been taken off.
I wasn't concerned with getting a labiaplasty, as I was really only worried about feeling tight. I mainly have only one side of my labia that sticks out. But Now that I am looking at it so much I wish I had done the labiaplasty together with the Vaginoplasty, I think it would have been aesthetically beautiful.
The following few days were ok, I say ok because now I don't remember the pain. So I guess it's not so bad after all. I was sore but I kept up with my medication and I had no problems passing urine or stools.
I was using Bactroban ointment a few times a day and taking vitamin C tablets as advised.
A week later I got my periods and so i think it slowed down the healing process but that's just what I think. Dr Les said it's a good thing as there no blockage and periods came through fine.
I was washing every time I passed urine and I would shower after every stool. I was taking so much care of the area.
I went for my 2nd week check up a week later so 3 weeks pot op as I couldn't due to periods and dr could see I had issues healing. I was put on antibiotics incase I had an infection or perhaps I did have one. I have to say i am on my feet a lot as i am running after my lil ones and picking them up.
I was also scared to bath so after Dr Les had a look and said i should be taking salt baths to help with healing I took the plunge and sat in the tub.
And I do that atleast once a day now. I just really want to heal.
Dr wanted to see me again a week later and so at my 4 week check up he advised me to put the Bactroban cream as it's still healing, it's been a slow and steady process but he is happy after he inserted one finger in and everything seemed to be fine. We discussed labiaplasty very briefly, I'm still in 2 minds about it.
I am now 4.5 weeks post op. Every day it looks better and better. I still get some itchiness, and it feels tender. I am due to see him again 6 weeks post op. I'm still taking my salt baths every night (ran out of salt so I missed 2 nights).
I won't be able to resume sex until possibly 8 weeks after.
I will continue to post updates. I'm super nervous of the outcome my partner has no idea I've done this operation. It's sort of excuse after excuse as to why I'm not able to have intercourse, running out of ideas haha
