My acne scars covered my shoulders, back and arms. This created severe levels of self-conscious embarrassment and depression. While I would always look to avoid having to allow others to see my scars, it became harder and harder as my children became older and we looked to enjoy time as a family at the beach, water parks, etc. I hit an emotional low when swimming with my two daughters, they asked me what was wrong with my back. The look in their eyes as I tried to explain why my skin looked the way it did, convinced me that I had to do something to fix the appearance of my skin.
