Profound RF for 60 Year Old

I had my procedure done by Dr. Persky in Encino, CA. They started by numbing my face with a lotion. They typically give patients a shot of demerol, but demerol makes me vomit so they gave me a Xanax and Tramadol (a pain killer). The worst part of the entire procedure for me were the nerve blocks. Those hurt. It's kind of like when you're getting novacaine at the dentist...the needle goes in and then starts moving around to spread it around. Aaargh. I can't say with certaintly how many I had (thank you Xanax) but I believe I had at least 6 of them in the different areas of my face. I could occassionally feel the needles from the Profound procedure, and it does really hurt so I guess I understand the nerve blocks, although I think I'd look for alternative pain relief if I did it again.
I did stop all supplements ahead of time as recommended to help stop bruising and started taking Arnica Montana 4 days prior to the procedure, but even before I left the office it was clear I was going to bruise like a mother. But I am a bruiser...and I don't think there's any way around that for me.
I had this done late yesterday afternoon and woke up with a lot of swelling and bruising, although no pain. My upper lip is swollen enough that I talk funny. I also still have some continued numbness around my forehead.
I'll post photos and updates daily.

How much was your treatment and was it for your entire face?

It was $6,900 and he did my entire face, including my forehead, which isn't always done.

Much better, but I'm still bruised.

That's obscenely expensive. I went to a plastic surgeon to see about reversing a fat transfer to my face that was botched back in 2014. They didn't recommend the facial lipo but instead tried to sell me on using Profound with a buccal fat removal. The quote was outrageous and I declined. Plastic surgery is just one big money making bonanza. I refuse to be a victim anymore. I had a majority of my procedures done when I was in my 20s and naive but now as a 31 year old I'm looking to reverse everything and go back to my natural appearance. It's proving to be more frustrating than I thought because it seems like the surgeons treat me like a cash cow and they don't care. I don't trust any of them.

Agree.

I agree that it isn't worth it! I went to a reputable BH surgeon office and results were unimpressive. I think it works better for women in their 30's.

I started taking 1,000 gdu of Bromelain 3 x day yesterday to see if it helps with the bruising. I'm also using a lotion called Remedy Bruise Cream (Arnica cream) that I put on my face a couple times a day.

Large quantities of Vit C also help with bruising. Make sure you drink plenty of water to flush the extra supplements throughout the body.

Realself.com is very restrictive that it doesn't let you delete a post from the day before. I'm just trying to edit and organize what I've written and it's forbidden. Ack!

Last night was the first night I slept flat (it was recommended to sleep sitting up for the first 48 hours) and wow...that wasn't a good idea. My face felt swollen again as well as my upper lip and I woke up with a black eye. I did start seeing some minor bruising around the inside corners of my eyes yesterday, but wasn't expecting a black eye. I guess the eye bruising is a result of the Profound on my forehead. As I've stated, I am a real bruiser and I'm learning that I need to expect double the normal recovery time.

Any updates?
Why do they tell you to sleep sitting up?

Did you need someone to drive you home or could you do it.
