21 days post upper lower bleph
still feel tight and a little numb. My wrinkles are still there when I smile but the hooding and bags are not. Bruising is not completely gone but it's only 3 weeks. My eye shape is looking like my eye shape now. Happy. No dry eye. No sleeping problems. Excited to see the unfolding results (minus hanging folds)

I forgot to ask, was your lower incision on outer lid or inside lid?? I think that's transcutaneous (outside the lid) or transconjunctival (inside lower eyelid)???

Hello Birdies your eyes look great I am 17 days out did you have one eye less swollen than the other and at 21 days your eyes look great I hope it will be the same for me take care!

Blu- wow we are close in recovery time;) Yes one of my eyes was more swollen then the other. On one he had to take more skin to even it out with the "better" one. a couple of days can make a huge difference.

Wow, your results are amazing and you healed very quickly!! You look great!! I'm scheduled for upper/lower at the end of June and I'm already doing the spinning you wrote about!! All the "what-ifs" are what scares me. I like the surgeon I've chosen and his before/afters look really good and his staff has been very responsive to all my questions. For one thing, I absolutely hate needles. I literally hyperventilate when I see one coming. I'm worried about getting the pre-op blood work done, and I'm worried about the IV for anesthesia. I've told my doctor about my debilitating fear so he is aware... And of course I'm worried about my vision... Realistically I know that this procedure is very common these days and complications are rare, but if there is a complication to be had, I'm usually the unlucky one to have it!! Thanks for posting your progress!! I can only hope my surgery goes as well and that I heal as quickly as you have :)

Tab! I always say it's a minor surgery but it's major emotionally . I cried all the way through the recovery process sometimes I was really happy and I cried and sometimes I was afraid and I cried . I too am a big fainter . I find it when I tell people I am that way I don't faint or have any kind of panic attacks it's when I keep it in and don't say anything that I will have one. Keep in touch ! And thank you for your comment .

Do you know if your surgeon removed the fat pads or just repositioned them in your lower eyes?? Did he re-drape the muscle and tack to the bone at outer corner of eye? And did he remove any excess skin on lowers?? From what I've read, uppers are "easy" for surgeons, but lowers can be tricky to get them right. My surgeon has explained how he will do my lowers and it involves repositioning fat pads, re-draping muscle and trimming the excess skin. This will be done through in incision under my eyes, not inside the eyelid. Transcutaneous I think is the term, not transconjunictival. Thanks again for any insight into how your lowers were done. They look great!!

Hey Tab -He said some fat would be removed and some would be repositioned between the hollow and cheekbone .I don't know if he removed any skin on the lowers - I know he did on the left upper . The other questions I can certainly ask when I see him !

You look great! I'm having my lowers done in July and I'm really nervous about the procedure itself. Is it painful? Did it take long?? I hope 10 days off of work is plenty because that's what I have planned.

May 25, 2016
Viv- The procedure is not painful (mine took 1.5 hrs I think or less) and the aftermath is not painful just swollen and tender. I did not really need my pain meds after Day 2. Just a Tylenol (1 pill) as needed. If you want to get back to work by 10 days , I think you can do it. But take those 10 days and REST. The first 48 hours after is the most important so if you are told to ice like crazy. set an alarm. Any meds - set an alarm. Get your eyebrows done a cpl days before procedure , set up pillows and stuff for sleeping slightly elevated. Prepare with everything in reach. Your recovery time should be shorter than mine because I did both upper and lower. Are you going under ? if so what type of anesthesia?

Wow! Your eye's are beautiful (both before & after!) ! Your doc did an awesome job! I've wanted to have my eye's done for 20+ years but am too scared:( Hoping I will be able to muster the courage before my 50th next year.

May 26, 2016
Hey pissypants- keep in touch I think you can do it. Most people seem so glad they did !

If I don't tend to heal well do you think the upper eyelid surgery (which I am scheduled for) is a mistake? I don't get keloids but I always have red marks and sometimes raised scars. My doctor said the eyelids heal differently but I'm scared.

May 26, 2016
Gia Hi I'm not a Dr. but I think just getting the uppers will give you a lot less scarring. Personally I don't eat dairy or meat and I took arnica and bromelain after surgery. I think that tends to help my healing. I thnk you'll be fine. I still have scarring and red marks but its so much less now.
May 27, 2016
I just had it done 9 days ago- ask for or find VitaMedica - morning vitamins, evening vitamins - start those 5 days before surgery, then also the Bromelain w Quercetin- start 3 days before surgery. Then Arnica every day 3x a day and continue w the other mentioned. I have healed with out much bruising which is unusual for me. This was all included from my doc. (All VitaMedica products for the above)
