First off, I'd like to thank everyone who posted their rhinoplasty experience on this site! It truly played an instrumental part in my decision to go through with my rhinoplasty. I feel like I am better informed about what to expect in the months to come and I couldn't appreciate that more!
Like many others, I've hated my nose for years and years. I don't like how wide my nose is from the top of my bridge to my base. My nose gets even wider when I smile and I am pretty much always smiling. With that, I don't like how big my nostrils are. My tip is too big and it droops when I smile. I have the smallest dorsal bump that is probably the result of a soccer injury. While I don't hate my profile as much as my front, my nose just looks big and over-projected. I want my nose to be more defined, more feminine, and with a slight slope to it. I want to be one of those girls with a cute nose! I've wanted to change my nose for over ten years but I didn't seriously consider rhinoplasty until I had my breast reduction (about 5 years ago). That was honestly the BEST decision of my life and I am thankful I made the change every day.
I met with a couple surgeons in the beginning of this year and one stood out from the rest. I could tell he listened carefully to what I wanted but also wasn't afraid to tell me if he thought certain changes would look unnatural on my face. I didn't feel rushed at the consultation and he took time to answer all my questions. His staff was also very kind and attentive.
I know I was not given an absolute horrid nose but I do feel like it significantly takes away from my other facial features. A few people have voiced their opinion that I don't NEED a nose job. Overall, I've been lucky to receive the support I need from family and close friends.
I'd like to start figuring out what I need in terms of post-surgery supplies because I will be in Europe until about 2 weeks pre-op! Please let me know any suggestions from personal experience! Also, any suggestions to help in the swelling process would be much appreciated.
November 16th can't come soon enough :)

Wish you the best with your rhinoplasty. Like you I have a wide nose and I'm considering rhinoplasty. What doctor did you choose? I live in Solana Beach Ca, so I would like to know which doctor is going to be yours. So far I had 2 consultations with 2 different local doctors.

How funny, I'm in Solana Beach too! I decided to go with Dr. Steve Laverson in Encinitas. Have you had a consultation with him or considered him as an option? Best of luck with your journey!

Good luck with your surgery!!! How exciting...
I've had people say the same to me that j don't "need" a nose job.
We do this to us and no one else.
Your so beautiful already, can't wait to see your results.
My surgery is about two weeks after yours!!! Nerve racking but also exciting :)
