I'm a fairly youthful, slender 60 year-old. Hadn't needed anything (my husband and friends said), but I didn't want to be like my mother at age 70ish and say, "I wish I'd done something when I was younger". Noticed that I was getting the traditional family sagging chin and had very crepe-y neck skin from hours of CA sun exposure when young, so decided to check-out the mini facelift. Am an analytical-type, so researched the best I could; interviewed doctors. Am very happy with my decision, as the drooping neck with its crepe-y skin has disappeared. I see a fresher me in the mirror, much more like I feel inside. lt's a subtle and natural-looking change; maybe took a few years off now (10?) and hopefully will hold for quite a few more. I thought Dr. Yco and his staff were all fabulous and very helpful, both before with my questions and afterwards with my concerns. The healing was excellent and not even noticeable (from the front) to my hairdresser at 21 days when I returned home and went for my usual trim; she said it was some of the best surgery results she'd seen. The incision behind the ears takes longer and the numbness was more than I'd expected, but now at 4 months the jaws, ears and sides of cheeks are comfortable again. Cheeks may feel kind of like firm cardboard for years, according to my friend who had a full face-lift 30 years ago (she's older than me, more vain and has never regretted it.) Reminds me, when I tell her that I could have gone on a safari in Africa or a trip to China or some other luxurious thing, that I will appreciate this more each day when I look in the mirror — and, so far, she's right! It's inspired me to start yoga and exercise on a regular basis. May even suggest to my husband that he might go in for a consultation next year when we're back in the area...

Wow, you sound like me! I will be 60 in Aug. this year and have been trying to research as much as I can concerning ps for my face. I am happy to hear that your experience has been positive. I wear my hair in a pixie cut and am concerned about the incision area in front of the ears. I am also youthful (I think) and slender. I don't have a lot of sagging skin but just some in the jowl area, and neck. I am concerned about appearing stretched looking because of the lack of it. I have not had any consultations as yet but I will keep your ps surgeon in mind because I also live in San Diego County. Happy I came across your post! Thank you for your help!

Hi-Did you also have an incision under the chin to pull up the platsymal area? The price you paid is very reasonable. Glad you had such a good result.
