Tummy Tuck Hypertrophic and Keloid Scar and Belly Button Revision
$400
I am starting this review to log my journey of scar removal with Embrace Scar Therapy and possibly Biocorneum. I had several hypertrophic scars on my belly from appendix, gall stones and also a c-section scar. I had previously had steroid shots, so I know my body responded well to them; however, the appendix scar was ugly and atrophied(if that's a word). Anyway, I wanted to remove them and thought I could exchange 7 scars for one long scar and with steroid shots it would be better. Needless to say, that wasn't the case. I somewhat regretted getting the tummy tuck and wished I had just done more research on scar removal instead and did them individually. I didn't have issues with my tummy just the scars and I discussed this with my doctor. We discussed the steroid injections during the surgery but he did not follow through. Instead, he advised me to wear the surgical tape or a month and then Mederma after. I had used Mederma when it first came out and thought maybe something was different since the surgeon is recommending it. Well there was no change I am left with the scar you see below and my belly button is closed. He offered to redo my surgery at my expense but at this point I didn't trust him. I went to several other doctors, some who refused, but all told me that he should have performed a revision at no charge. Unfortunately, I never left him a review. The TT looks good and I didn't have any lipo but as you can see the scar feels and looks like a belt. My revision is scheduled for September and I will document my success (staying positive) with Embrace Scar Therapy.
