Large scar on left cheek
After seeing 2 dermatologists, I was referred to the University due to “complex infection” and the need for a team to manage. I had a tissue biopsy/culture and was diagnosed with Suppurative Granulomatous Dermatitis. I am a 68 year old dentist who chose Ellacor instead of a facelift in order to avoid more severe risks. I planned to continue occasional part time or volunteer work. However, now I no longer feel presentable is this type of professional role. It’s quite a loss!
Terrible Cystic Acne As a Result of Ellacore
My dermatologist said that I should keep Vaseline on my face until it healed, and not to let it scab over. Well, I am a retired dentist and I was hell bent not to let my face get scabs. Also, “until your face heals” means different goings to different people. Probably an emphasis that I should not sleep on my stomach might of helped as well. I kept Vaseline on my face for 10 days and slept on my stomach, primarily on the left side of my face. 3 months later this is what it looks like, even with a broad spectrum antibiotic, and Minocycline, Doxycycline, draining, steroid injection and topical antibiotic and steroids. Not sure if my face will ever recover, and certainly there will be scaring, I would think.
