Ellacor Grid/track Marks Just Won’t Go Away

In the first year of my 40th decade, I have undertaken several efforts to look and feel a bit more like my old self, and I was excited to read about Ellacor as a solution to lower face sagging that didn’t involve the invasiveness/trauma, money, anesthesia and downtime of a facelift. I admit I expected what the company promises - dramatic results in exchange for a couple grand, a week in hiding, and another week looking like garbage.

I did read about a few “bad results” with Ellacor before I had the procedure, but I had done very well with various lasers in my early thirties, including some of the “more intense” ones like Fraxel and Profound, and I am not a person who has difficulty healing, hyperpigmentation, or keloid scarring. I also chose a board certified dermatologist who I really trust. Overall, I expected this to go well.

Regrettably, I really can’t say it has. Though I fortunately haven’t scarred, the skin tightening I’ve seen has not been as dramatic as I hoped, particularly around the jewels. But ok, so it didn’t work that well. That’s a loss of money. What has really made me regret this procedure is that more than two months later, I still have grid/track marks from the procedure. Not two weeks - two months. Additionally, the dermatologist who initially treated me has followed up with two unplanned V-Beam treatments, and a Fraxel-Dual treatment. The Fraxel does seem to have helped with the orange-peel texture that Ellacor caused to my once-smooth skin, but none of these laser treatments, or time, has completely gotten rid of the red, spotted grid marks on my face.

I’ve stayed away from plastic surgery, but over the years I’ve had quite a few “dermatologic tweaks” in an attempt to fight the inevitability of age. This is the only one I’ve ever regretted. Setting aside the fact that I’ve wasted my initial money, and several thousand more trying to unsuccessfully correct it, the worst part is to have something mess up your face. I’ve always had pretty good skin and worn minimal make up, and I really just feel sad that this has gone sideways on me in a way that may not be correctable for any price.

If you were my friend, I’d tell you not to do this. Forget the money - it’s not worth the risk of looking permanently worse. I’m not even one of those “rare cases” that has scarred or not-healed or hyper-pigmented. I’m just a regular patient whose grid marks from this procedure won’t go away. Don’t do it, fellow traveler.

I hate to say it but I'm 6 months down the track from my procedure and I still have the grid marks. Similarly to you, I have had lots of different dermatological treatments and never had an issue with healing or scarring. I now have the grid marks pretty much all over my face, with hyperpigmentation under my chin. I feel wary of doing anything to correct it in case something else goes wrong.

Thank you for your review as it has helped me decide not to do this procedure. I'm wondering if CO2 would be more effective for you.

I am 2 months out from my Ellacor treatment. I still have the 'stamp' marks and have red spots that appear to be pimples but are actually knots under the skin. I am exfoliating regularly in hopes of improving my appearance. I see my plastic surgeon in two weeks and am eager to hear his thoughts. I see my dermatologist the very next day and have hope that she can offer suggestions to improve my skin's appearance. I should've done more research before deciding to spend $3,000 on this. Would not recommend this treatment.

Sadly, it looks like I have joined the club! I am several months after my third treatment and now have the grid marks and bumpy irregular, textured skin. I didn't seem to have the problem after the first two. I just did my second BBL treatment to try to improve some of this. They're going to check to see if something like the halo laser or something else would work better. This treatment should be taken off the market!!
