I've always had considerable crowding with my bottom teeth, but in the last few years my top teeth have begun to shift. One tooth sticks out and drives me crazy, so I decided to finally get Invisalign to fix all of it!
I had 19 buttons total, 11 on the top, including two on one of my front teeth, which I'm not thrilled about, but I know it's for a reason. 8 buttons on the bottom. These drive me crazy! I feel like I have food on my teeth and that I'm going to break one of them off when eating, so I've been trying to eat softer foods for now. As far as pain, it's minimal, more annoying than anything. I had to file the bottom front tray as it was cutting my mouth. The pressure is still very noticeable even though I'm on day 3, but I'm hoping this gets better in the next couple of days. They are pretty easy to get off and on, I'm used to all the brushing and I've definitely stopped snacking so much, which is a plus. The amount of saliva in my mouth is crazy, my lips are chapped, but I've heard both of these will pass, hopefully soon. I have 26 sets of trays total, so one year of treatment, I keep thinking how far away that is and how long the first few days have been, but I know once I get used to them, it won't be so bad. I'll update again in a few days.

Day 6

Finally!! Today is the first day that I haven't had any discomfort, it's been so nice! I still have a little pressure on the top but nothing terrible. I'm talking with less of a lisp, but the underside of my tongue has a sore on it from the liners and it won't heal. I'm so relieved that I'm getting used to them and sometimes I forget I even have them in. I'll update again when I change to tray 2 in 9 days :)

I got that too, the sore tongue. So I filed the bottom edge of my trays and then the sore tongue went away magically. Give it a try?

Off and on I have the tongue thing and usually a little filing helps. It also helps to get busy with something to distract myself because once you notice it your tongue keeps finding that rough spot.
Thanks for sharing your story with us. I suggest updating with photos of your smile so you can view the progress of your treatment over time.
