Dealing with open incisions
Last week I developed an opening on my vertical incision line. I freaked out! I have had such a smooth recovery compared to some, so any small abnormality has me on edge. I did contact the plastic surgery staff and have been nursing it with bacitracin (looks like petroleum jelly). My four week post op check up was on monday. As the surgeon had instructed, I did not pick at the glue that had begun to fall off as well as my dead skin on top. He ended up removing the dead skin and the stitches that were still in from my drain site. After returning home, I noticed that on the same breast that I had had the open incision, I had another area that needed some bacitracin. Ew. Unfortunately I also noticed that a stitch is coming from that area. It is the area in which the nipple and vertical incision meet. You cannot see the stitch in photos. It looks like fishing line. Anyway, I don’t go back to the doc for six weeks. I’m wondering if I should address this. It’s healing up, so I am not terribly concerned. I’ll attach some photos. Oddly enough, since he took the tape and dead skin off, my boobs have been sore. Also coupled with the fact that I am on my period. That’s probably the source of the soreness... anyway, everything is going well. I have been able to return to my job without any issues physically. I have great energy and am independent. If you’re wondering if you should go through with this surgery, without hesitation YES.

Loving Life
I’m pleased to tell you that I’m 3 weeks post op! Woo! Man, after week one, things have gotten easier and easier. My incisions are healing nicely, I have better range of motion in my arms, and I’m feeling great! Here’s a before and after of my chest in the same bra.
I have had a great recovery. I’m back to my normal energy, I think. I do notice that I need to rest a bit in between activities or I’ll get sore. I’m walking about a mile each day. Everything is going great!

what size did you go to/from? Your chest looks exactly like mine! Surgery in a week!
I enjoyed reading your journey. Thanks for sharing. Yes, with this surgery one day you feel like wonder woman and the next day you do not even want to get out of bed. I am one month post op and the nipple pain can go from zero to 10 at any given time of the day.
However, as much as I enjoyed being busty most of my life. I do no miss them and every day I fall more in love with my new smaller and perkier twins. I have no idea what size I am and it does not matter. I am wearing a genie bra, the relief of not have to strap up my breast is priceless.
All the best with your recovery.

Bye Bye Drains, Hello Freedom
Today I had my drains removed, wound vac taken off.
What a relief! I think I had the most pain coming from the wound vac and my armpit which has a swollen lymph node. My surgeon said he didn’t feel or see anything. He said my breasts are healing great! I don’t go back for 3 weeks! Here’s a pic of my boobies from the other day before the drains were taken out.

That’s good news! It seems like people with drains maybe don’t tend to collect that fluid after so they’re a good thing right? Thanks for the updates- oh are looking good!
I had my drains in almost a week. I know it was very beneficial to my healing. I had fluid releasing even the day they took them out, but it was getting clearer every day. I’m almost two weeks post op and am healing so well and feel great!
Hi looks great! My surgery is coming up yay how many ccs were removed?
Yay!!! Uh... I will ask my hubby. I think he said 600 ccs from each but I can’t remember. It was a total of 2.5 lbs I think. Sorry I don’t have the specifics... I was a little drugged when the surgeon told my hubby and I didn’t ask the surgeon at my follow up.
Thank you! That makes me feel better. My insurance is requiring 610 so I was feeling worried about going from one extreme to the other. But seeing your results I feel more confident that w my lipo included I’ll finally have pretty AND small boobs!
Yay! Yes, hubby confirmed it was 600 ccs removed from each. When is your surgery?
Thank you for telling me! It’s June 21! 3 weeks before I’m 21 yay. What’s your cup size now?
I think it’s beneficial to have the surgery done while young because bodies are able to heal more quickly. I feel like I’ve been on a strict regimen for the recovery, as in I haven’t wanted to compromise my healing, so I’ve followed the doc’s orders to a T. I went to Victoria Secret with my sister and we measured. She had an augmentation a couple of years ago (we have complete opposite bodies). She measured at a 32DD and I was a 32D. My breasts are still very much swollen, so I hope they will continue to reduce in siZe. If not, I’m alright with where they are!
Wow your surgeon did an amazing job!! Do the have a real self profile?
