WORTH IT
I've been seeing Dr. Taher for lip filler for about a year now. I will start by saying that I'm a HUGE perfectionist and can be quite anxious when allowing someone to do any type of treatment to my face. I can happily say that Dr. Taher has always met and even exceeded my expectations of what lip fillers can do! As you'll see from my personal before and after photos, I had a very thin top lip, and a smaller-than-average bottom lip. Over the year, he's taken them up to perfection, and now I've got completely natural-looking and symmetrical lips. I appreciate that Dr. Taher will never overfill, and uses his expertise along with the nurses input to decide what size would be best for your facial structure and other facial features. He also uses a numbing cream and ice prior to the procedure, so it's not nearly as painful as one might anticipate! It honestly feels like a slight pinching. He also uses very fine needles and has excellent technique, which have never left me with any bruising. I would also like to commend Kerri (she has been in every one of my procedures) as she's got an excellent eye for symmetry and always provides her input as Dr. Tahers second set of eyes. The two of them make an excellent team and I couldn't be happier. I will always go back to Dr. Taher and would highly recommend him if you're in the Edmonton area.

What exactly did you say you want? Just the top? Or bottom too? And how much?? Just curious because they look so good!!

Aw thank you! I just told my Dermatologist that I was looking for a "small rosebud pout" and that I did NOT want wide lips (you know when sometimes you see people with too much filler all around their lips and their mouth just looks big?) Anyway, I asked if we could please focus on the center of my lips, on both the top and bottom but mostly focus on the top. So over the course of a year, I would go in every 3 months for another half cc. I like to do a half cc every 3 months, since I find that it maintains the fullness, rather than getting a ton put in all at once and have people question if my lips are fake. My best advice would be to take it slow with lips, because I've had girlfriends go to different clinics and they've ended up with "trout pout" because their injector filled WAY too much all at once. I would also highly recommend going to a dermatologist or surgeon too, since it seems like so many doctors and nurses are trying to offer this service, but I wouldn't trust my face to anyone but the dermatologists and surgeons who are highly educated in this area!

Hey there ! Love your results !!! I've made an appointment with de taher in a couple weeks. I'm wondering if you bruised and how badly ? Also how much you pay for a half cc ? Thanks :)

Thats very exciting, I'm sure you'll love your results and would like to see them; I hope you post photos!
I didn't bruise badly, but after having them done so many times, I've learned to not take Advil prior to or after the procedure because this thins your blood and will make you more prone to bruising. I have chronic pain and advil is part of my daily med regimen, but I ensure not to take it the day before the procedure too. I made the mistake before, and bruised quite a bit on my bottom lip. As for the cost of a half cc, I'm not even sure what that would cost because I always go in to have them "topped up" and just tell him to put whatever he feels is necessary.

How much did you get over the course of a year? Love the results!

The first time I ever went, I went with a half cc, because I was nervous as to how it would look. It definitely wasn't enough, so I went back shortly after (about a month) for another half cc. From that point on, I would go in every 3 months for another half cc each time because I like to maintain the fullness, rather than wait 6+ months for all the filler to dissolve. I've found that no one's ever questioned if I've got my lips done, because I've kept them consistently filled! So overall, it's hard to say what's currently in my lips, but I like injecting a half cc every 3 months. I hope that helps!
Thank you for joining in and sharing your experience. Glad to hear the procedure was so comfortable for you. What are your best aftercare tips?
