Well, this has been a huge journey for me. After a few years of deliberation and a lot of research I have finally made my decision, to try breast implants. The factors that basically fell into place for me to decide to do this were 1) Getting married, and therefore realizing that any potential complications or scarring would be things we would share together and my husband does and would support me and accept me anyway I am. 2) Trying on wedding dresses was a little depressing when every consultanot says, "Oh don't worry, we can sew in two pads for you to boost up the chest!". Sigh. Bigger beasts were always something I had wished and hoped for (my Mom has big ones, mine never seemed to arrive) and now it has become something that is feasible. I had never truly considered surgery in my younger years as I could never ever afford it. Circumstances have changed now and I find myself wanting to look how I've always wished my body would. I do not intend to go enormous with my breasts. I am currently a 34B and I am currently considering 330CC or 3 75 submuscular. When I try the sizers on the 330 is the size I would like to be but the doctor does warn that they will appear slightly smaller under the muscle and it might be a good idea to go 375 and get the extra 30CCs. Plus it seems most reviews I read everyone wishes they had gone bigger. I do have surgery booked for February 10th with Dr. Jonathan Toy in Edmonton, Alberta. Will post more updates and some photos as I go along.

I'm in Alberta too and currently on the waiting list to see Dr. Toy! Good luck! Can't wait to hear about your experience!

Hey fellow Albertan :) If you are hoping to get an appointment with Toy sooner my advice is to keep calling and asking for appointments. When I first called they put me on a waiting list as well. I called back two weeks later and asked again and I got one a week later. Calling them again and asking has worked for me with my subsequent consultations and for my girlfriends that are trying to get consultations as well. Give it a shot :)

Well, my surgery is a mere 9 days away on February 17th. I am having an outpatient procedure, so thankfully I won't be spending any overnights in a hospital. As I mentioned in my first post I am currently between 330cc and 375cc. The more research I do though the boob envy/greed seems so real, therefore I think I am just going to head it off at the pass and go with the 375cc. I am also much more relaxed now that I've told my Mom and gotten her support 100%. I think this has contributed to me being more open minded about the larger cc size. I will decide morning of the surgery though, as Dr. Toy has ordered me both sizes, just in case.

I am also getting all the things together that I will need. I filled my prescriptions (percocet, valium, antibiotics, and a stool softener) and I have bought an angled pillow to help with sleeping and being propped up on the couch. I have paper tape for once the sterile strips come off and I've begun using bio oil to help my breasts be as moisturized/pliable as possible. I've read that a lot of women say using bio oil before their surgery helped the skin stretch easier to accommodate the implant and helped them avoid stretch marks. Dr. Toys' pre-surgery booklet also recommends using bio oil beforehand for these same reasons, so that is good enough for me!

Right now I am just trying to prep as much as I can (I'm not bothering with pre cooked meals and laundry etc, my husband can handle that while I'm laid up, he's a big boy.) and have as much as I can on hand to keep me comfortable. I am planning on doing everything possible to help my scars heal as best as they can, as having big lumpy scars is one of my main concerns!

Otherwise I am honestly not thinking about it that much, since the main decision has been made there isn't much to think about besides the surgery itself and sitting around contemplating being cut open makes me feel queasy. I've never had any sort of surgery before, so the fear of the unknown is definitely a little frightening. So I am focusing on the pre and post parts and leaving the middle part up to my doctor. I've uploaded a few pictures, hopefully they help someone someday! Being 6'0" and 140 pounds I found it difficult to find reviews from people with similar proportions as me as most women seem to be between 5'2" and 5'8". I'll check back in after surgery!

Do you have a surgery date booked? I really enjoyed my experience with Dr. Toy. I found him really easy to talk to and very open and patient with all my questions. Although sometimes I find his front end staff isn't always on the ball.
