I didn't find anyone who was posting a day by day of their recovery process so I figured I would.
Day 1: got home from hospital. Pain wasn't too bad just sore. Lots of fluid leaking all day (I wasn't expecting so much). It looks like blood but it wasn't. When I went to change into fresh bandages and rinse the blood out of my compression garment (highly recommend getting 2, wish I had), I could get a glimpse of how tiny my waist was going to be since the swelling hadn't started. I slept most of the day and took the painkillers I was given.
Day 2- leaking stopped. Swelling began. I slept through most of this day as well and stayed on my pain killers. I was able to finally sleep on my side but changing positions hurt the most.
Day 3- I had to go to work. Being up and walking around really made the swelling travel down south. My pelvic area and vagina lips are so swollen. Walking around was difficult. I felt like I was pregnant. I was sent home early and slept the rest of the day.
Day 4- my pelvic region is beyond swollen and bruised. It's pretty disgusting to look at. I have been assured that it's normal but my god is it uncomfortable. I have to go back to work today which I am not looking forward to. Walking around feels fine but transitioning from sitting to standing is very painful. I am also out of painkillers and switched to Tylenol so I am feeling it, especially around my ribs.

hey, thanks for sharing your journey. i think it's a great idea to do a day by day bulletin style post. I'm going to steal your idea if you don't mind! how was the first day for you? im getting lipo as well at the end of April in Miami and so far can't find anyone to go with me so im going have to do this solo..wondering if ill be able to manage alone...

First day was rough. I would not recommend to do it alone. At least have someone to get you home and settled. My leaking was BAD and getting in and out of my compression and changing my gauze was also almost impossible to do alone. Make sure your bed is layered with towels. I would also recommend getting puppy pee pass to put down as well. I slept most of the day and kept my pain pills and lots of Gatorade within arms reach. Stock up on tons of Gatorade and crackers. Hope this helps and good luck! It will be totally worth it!

I just got lipo done a few hours ago with doctor Heller at the same office as dr cuber and everything was as described haha. I just popped a pain killer ready for bed. I see it's been a few months for you ladies, just checking to see how after the first few weeks you felt? Thanks!

Day 5

Officially ran out of pain pills so I am feelin it today. The girl at the office said I should be able to switch to Tylenol in a day or 2...now I have also had major spinal fusion so I'm no stranger to pain but the Tylenol was no cutting it at all. The most painful part is getting in and out of the compression and sitting down when I'm driving. I called them up and they are going to give me some for the next few days (huge relief). I only really need it first thing in the morning and at bedtime. I have been back to work and walking around a lot so the swelling has travelled down fast. My vagina is so purple it's almost black. I called my doctors office and they said it's normal. I notice it's worst at the end of my work day. I can't fit into my compression currently so I am wearing spanx and they feel a million times better and the dr said it's fine. I was wearing a loose dress at work last night and someone asked me if I was pregnant...if that gives you any idea of how swollen I really am. When I got home last night I cried when I saw it. This morning it looked a little better. This is the picture I took waking up this am. I cannot wait for the swelling to go away! Im going to try to take more pictures after work tonight to see the difference walking around all day makes.

Thanks for sharing, we are the same post op days, I had inner thighs and breast at same time so moving around has been a real pain!! I go back to work tomorrow and I'm dreading it!! Do your ribs hurt? Mine feel so sore
March 28, 2017
Yes the ribs are so painful, probably because there's so much bone and muscle around there...you are lucky you had a nice break I wish I was able to take more time off...first day back is no fun. Good luck!

I was told not to drink Gatorade due to the sodium. It will make you swell more.

The swelling from walking around is no joke. The bruising has now moved to my thighs. My vagina is the most swollen it's been I can barely get in my spanks.

My vagina was the most swollen as well. I had liposuction on march 6 and my vagina swelling just went down 3 days ago. I started sitting the bath tub with hot water massaging it.

Thank you so much for this day by day I got my work done Monday and if I did not have this I might have felt upset since I'm going up and down in size.
