I was always unhappy with the way my nose looked....

I was always unhappy with the way my nose looked. I felt that it was very bulbous and did not suit my face. Every time I saw a photo of myself I could only see how my nose looked. I decided to book a consultation at the Spire Murrayfield Hospital with Mr Awf Quaba. He had been recommended to me by a number of people and I had also met him during my time on a placement at the hospital. Mr Quaba instantly made me feel at ease. He asked me about my reasons for wanting rhinoplasty surgery and explained the pros and cons in detail to me. He took photos of my nose from many angles and asked me to point out to him in the photos what it was I was unhappy with. He explained what he could do for me and explained the limits to the surgery also. I was very happy to go ahead with the procedure and scheduled it for about 6 months later. On the day of the surgery Mr Quaba visited me to go through details of the surgery with me, what he planned to do and to make sure I was happy to go ahead with it. I woke up in recovery following my surgery in no pain, just very sleepy. I was taken back to my room to recover. I had small packs up my nose which felt quite strange but I did not have any discomfort. I also had a nose splint on, which was to stay on for 1 week. I stayed overnight at the hospital and in the morning met Mr Quaba again to have my nose packs removed and discuss anything with him that I felt I needed to. A nurse gave me my discharge letter and some pain relief to take home, as well as a nasal washing system and some cream for my very small stitches. Following the operation I had very little pain. A few days after it I needed to take some paracetamol and codeine for some discomfort, but no major pain. I returned 1 week later to have my splint removed by a nurse. I was so happy with the outcome ! I spent most of that day looking at my nose in the mirror! I was able to go back to my job as a healthcare assistant after 2 weeks off. I returned to see Mr Quaba 6 months later. He examined my nose and spoke to me about how I felt about the outcome. I had some after photos taken and was able to compare these to my before photos. Overall I was delighted with the outcome and can not thank Mr Quaba and the staff at the Spire Murrayfield Hospital enough.

My operation was done by Mr Awf Quaba. He is a brilliant surgeon and I can not thank him enough for what he has done for me. From the start he gave me detailed information with both pros and cons that allowed me to make an informed decision. He put me at ease and I never felt any pressure to have the surgery. He is a very friendly and nice man and if I was to get any further cosmetic surgery, it would be with him.
