Pics - Before surgery, 1st BA & 2BA

Before and After Pics - 1st and 2nd BA

Just a tip for anyone who is worried about going wider than their BWD. The doctor who performed my first BA was very conservative and insisted on going with my natural BWD both because I had very little tissue and low body fat. As you can see I had a rather large gap between my boobs following that first BA in 2004. My goal with my 2nd BA was to increase overall size and reduce the gap between my breast. When I went to my 1st BA revision consult I was told that my chest shape dictated the implant size and my only option would be to go with HP since a larger diameter would not be suitable. I knew I would again end up with two small balls just with greater projection. My second revision BA consult was with Dr. Leigh and he said I could certainly accommodate a larger diameter implant. He did an amazing job with size and placement -- my sisters and a couple of close friends all agreed the larger implants after gave me a more natural look and even those 450cc sounds big it wasn't.

My first BA was in 2004 using Allergan, saline, style 168MP, textured, round, unders, crease incision, will 210 cc fill. My pre-op bra size was 32AA – being athletic I had no loose skin and very low body fat so the surgeon basically told me what I could safely accommodate with no choice given for sizing/style. Post-surgery I wore 32B. For the first time I felt normal being able to buy bras in the women’s section and not pre-teen. Although I would have loved to have gone bigger, I remained satisfied with my modest size increase and only began considering a revision when my 10-year warranty expired.

Fast forward to 2015 - after much research, and several personal recommendations, I selected Dr. Leigh to perform my BA revision. Consultation was May 12. We discussed my goals, which included a size increase and reduction of the 3” gap between my breasts. (Decided to stick with saline because I just wasn’t ready to commit to an MRI every couple years to detect leaks as is recommended by the FDA) Following my consultation I was confident I had selected the best Dr. to do my procedure and was ready to set my surgery date. Wait time was several months out, but there had been a cancellation on May 22, so I booked the date and made payment in full the following day. Not gonna lie, I did experience some anxiety realizing I only had 10 days to prepare, schedule my pre-op physical with my regular doctor, and make sure I wasn’t consuming and foods/supz/meds on the pre-surgery banned list.

Day of Surgery - Having had general anesthesia in the past, (rhinoplasty 99 and 1st BA 04) I was sure my body would handle it well – and it did. I went into surgery at 11 A.M. and woke up in the recovery suite an hour later feeling sleepy, with slight chest pressure, but mostly fine. Even though I live 2 hours away, I decided to go home verse stay in a hotel since it was Memorial weekend and my post-op apt wasn’t until Tue May 26. The ride was a bit rough, but definitely glad to be sleeping in my own bed.

My new implants are Natrelle, saline, smooth, round, style 68-390MP overfilled to 450 cc both sides, unders, crease incision. At almost 2 months post-op I fit perfectly in a 32D. I’m thrilled with the look and placement – surgical scars are tiny and smooth. If I had to do it over again I would probably consider going with HP. My initial concern was that too much projection would get in the way of my workouts. Reflecting back, I think I’d be willing to take that risk ;-)

Dr Leigh did an outstanding job on my BA revision and I would highly recommend him and his surgical team to others. He listened and set realistic expectations for my surgery outcome. There were no surprises going into surgery and he had an excellent bedside manner, which helped me to feel less anxious. If I decide to go larger at some future time I will definitely go back to Dr. Leigh.
